Band Fever

Modern wind music in the style of the great Big Bands was the model for the composition Band Fever by Otto M. Schwarz. The piece features two soloists, saxophone and flugel horn. Rhythms such as Hip Hop and Double Samba support acatchy melody played by the full band. This forms the basis for the soloists' improvisations. This unique concert band work allows both soloists and conductor to display individuality and creativity. It is especially suitable as alight opening piece or as a feature number to display the great skills of your saxophone and flugel (or trumpet) players.

Band Fever

Rhythms like Hip Hop Style and Double Samba support a catchy melody, which is later taken up by the full band, forming the basis for the above-mentioned soloists’ improvisations. A unique work in the world of wind music, Band Fever allows both soloists and conductor to display individuality and creativity. It is especially suitable as an opener of the light part of a concert, or as afeature number for special soloists in the orchestra.

Dance of the Knights from Romeo and Juliet

This publication marks the first-ever symphonic wind band edition of the Dance of the Knights, from Scene 2 Capulet's Ball of Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet. [The ballet] led to one of the most beloved dance works in the repertory and a series of famous orchestral suites... but the celebrated legacy of Romeo and Juliet belies its tortured history: It left Prokofiev broken and emerged from a period that left many of his colleages dead. Nathan Jones' scoring for symphonic wind band faithfully captures the magic of the original orchestraion of this famous work, which has been heard in numerous films and TV shows, including The Simpsons, Warm Machine, GoodMorning Britain and Gotham, among many others. This piece is an ideal opener or closer for intermediate to advanced band.

Poul Ruders: Violin Concerto No.2 (Score)

Ruders writes: My second concerto for violin and orchestra is a ?reverse? cousin of Polydrama the cello concerto. The former starts out extremely slow and speeds up gradually and the latter progresses in exactly the opposite way, but whereas the cello concerto is composed as one, uninterrupted stretch, the violin concerto is formally completely different: there are 4 movements, each of them combined via a ?ritornello?, a solo-cadenza which appears 4 times (the works conclude with a solo) in almost the shape, i.e. the length varies from time to time.

Vidda : Solo for Trumpet and Brass Band

I composed the song "Vidda" after I got my ultimate boy's dream fulfilled; To fly one of the Air Force's F-16 fighter jets! We flew out from Norwegian city Bodø on to the Finnmark plateau, where we flew so-called "low level" (at low altitude). It was such a great experience for me that I immediately wrote the song "Vidda" based on my experience of the trip. Here, I try to describe the meeting between the technical perfection of a machine that surpasses most of the various forces in it’s escape through the magnificent scenery passing at great speed, and the pilot who is alone with both the adventure and responsibility. The drums which start the song is meant to describes theenergy in the power of the plane, while the lonely and kind of melancholy melody from the trumpet in the beginning describes the feelings of the pilot. As the song develop, we pass both the mountains and big beautiful plateaus with g-forces quivering body. Hopefully you will share some of my experiences through this song. Have a nice flight!
