Sheena Easton: For Your Eyes Only (Arr. Thomas Lydon)

This James Bond theme tune was released in 1981 with the film starring Roger Moore. The vocalist, Scottish singer Sheena Easton , beat out the band Blondie to record the song which went on to become a chart success and nominated for an Academy Award. The soaring love song integrates the signature style of Bond themes usually composed by John Barry, but this time written by Bill Conti and Mick Leeson. With a great use of dynamic range this SATB arrangement by Thomas Lydon captures the seduction of the classic Bond film.

Thomas Morley: Laboravi In Gemitu Meo (Ed. Lionel Pike)

Laboravi In Gemitu Meo by the Renaissance English composer and one of the principle members of the Madrigal School. This work, expertly edited by Lionel Pike , is arranged for unaccompanied SSAATB Chorus and lasts around 5 minutes. The text for  Laboravi In Gemitu Meo comes from Psalm vi, 6: "I am weary of my groaning, every night wash I my bed: and water my couch with my tears." Composer  Thomas Morley  was the most famous composer of Secular music in Elizabethan England, and was a contemporary of William Shakespeare. His use of the tritone interval in this work results in a sense of unease, something that resonates with the context of the piece: it was composed in retribution for informing on his fellow Catholics. 

Richard Rodney Bennett: A Colloquy With God (SATB/Piano)

Commissioned by the Swaledale Festival for a performance by the Royal Holloway Choir and Acoustic Triangle in Richmond, North Yorkshire on 26th May 2012.Sir Thomas Brown (1605-1608) always used this, his own poem, as a 'dormitive' to lull himself to sleep. The composer is grateful to his sister, Meg Peacocke, for her help in editing the poem.

Thomas Hyde: As A Lily Among Thorns (Novello New Choral Series)

As a lily among thorns was composed as a wedding present for Katie Johnston and John Hillier in March 2004. It was performed at their marriage in Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford and later performed publicly by Commotio directed by Matthew Berry. In October 2008 he was appointed Lecturer in Music at Worcester College, Oxford and since September 2009 has been visiting lecturer in composition at City University, London. Prizes include finalist in English National Opera?s young composer festival ?New Visions, New Voices? (1992), the National School Band Association Prize (1993), and a Wingate Scholarship (2004-5). His music is performed regularly in Britain, at festivals including Spitalfields, City of London, Presteigne, Deal and Little Missenden, as well as abroad, and has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Recent works have included a string quartet for the Allegri Quartet and the one-man opera That Man Stephen Ward for the Hampstead & Highgate Festival.
