VR Ping Pong for PS4 and PC is a sports game simulating table tennis games, intended for owners of virtual reality glasses. The independent development studio Reddoll Games, which specializes in VR technology, is responsible for the preparation of the title. The studio's previous production was Stealth Labyrinth, released in 2016 for PC, which allowed players to explore a three-dimensional maze and fight robots traversing it. Only owners of PlayStation VR glasses can start the game. The title also offers support for PlayStation Move motion controllers.
VR Ping Pong action was presented from the first person perspective. The players control the floating paddle, trying to deflect the balls flying towards them. The title uses the standard rules of table tennis, which are subject to some modifications in the optional variants of the game. The game takes place in a closed arena surrounded by stands.
VR Ping Pong does not provide for multiplayer games and is limited only to competition with computer AI. In addition to the tutorial, single match and tournament, the authors also prepared other game modes. In the so-called Wall Mode we bounce the ball from the wall, while in Broken Table Mode we play according to standard rules, but after each hit of the ball on the table it is gradually destroyed; Serve Mode tests the strength and accuracy of our servos, and the TT Machine - reaction speed.
