Changing Light was written for Edna Michell's Compassion project. In the composition the composer follows the idea of a dialogue, suggested by the text from Rabbi Jules Harlow. The intimate nature and fragile sound world of theduo mirror the fragility of our uncertain existence. This arrangement of Changing Light, for baritone and cello, was first performed in August 2019 during the Creative Dialogue Workshop at the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki, Finland.

Stars, Night, Music And Light

Stars, Night, Music and Light for chorus and orchestra was commissioned by BBC Radio 3 and first performed at the BBC Proms on 15th July 2011. The performance was given to open the First Night of the Proms at the Royal AlbertHall, London, by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Chorus and the BBC Singers, conducted by Jir Belohlávek. The arrangement for chorus with two pianos and timpani was first performed on 7th July 2018, at St Peter'sChurch, Acton Green, London, by the Addison Oratorio Choir with Matthew Hough and Joanna Korzinek (pianos), conducted by David Wordsworth.

Anthem taking liturgical text, premiered by the Tallis Scholars in 1997.Quoting Tavener: In this work The Hymn of the Unwaning Light,massive, monolithic, and resplendent with the joy of the Risen Christ, alternates with the Proclamation of Easter and with the Processional Angels in the Heavens. The Proclamation of Easter is sung in Greek, first by a male voice (the Psaltis), and finally by the whole choir. The Psaltis is the chief singer at Greek Orthodox services, and the soloist must immerse himself in this style of singing.

For SATB chorus and Organ, from The Veil Of The Temple. The Veil of the Temple was commissioned by the Temple Music Trust. The world premiere took place on 27th June 2003 at the Temple Church, London, performed by the Choir of the Temple Church and the Holst Singers, with Patricia Rozario (soprano), conducted by Stephen Layton, as part of The City of London Festival, 2003. The anthem You mantle yourself in light was sponsored by 39 Essex Street Chambers. It was first performed on 29th April 2004, by the Choir of the Temple Church with James Vivian (organ), conducted by Stephen Layton.
