Romance from the DandelionsCantata on verse by Miloslav Bures A cantata for mixed a cappella choir and soprano solo set to a text by Miloslav Bures. The work is part of a cycle of four vocal pieces which Martinuwrote to texts by this poet (The Opening of the Wells, Romance of the Dandelions, Legend of the Smoke from Potato Fires and Mikes of the Mountains). These works have in common simplicity of melodic line and harmonic treatment,clear tonal grounding in each piece, structure of form and central motifs; they are also a testimony of the composer's love for his native country and the Vysocina [Highlands] region. This edition is based, incompliancewith the composer's wishes, on the performance of the work by the Czech Choral Society. The sung text and forewords are printed in Czech, English and German.

Festive Choral Settings From Cantatas Arranged For Choir & Organ is ideal for church services and concerts and has easy-to-play Organ reductions.The six choral settings of this edition come from cantatasby Johann Sebastian Bach, offering richly sounding ensemble forces for festive occasions of the ecclesiastical year (New Year, Easter, Ascension Day, Whitsuntide, Trinity Sunday). These arrangements for Choir andOrgan by the church musician and organist of the Stiftskirche Tübingen, Ingo Bredenbach, will allow choirs unable to call on large orchestral forces with wind instruments and strings to perform these choralsettings.Concertante cantata movements giving prominence to the choir have been selected; at the same time their texts do not restrict them to the particular religious holiday they were meant for in the Church year. Thesearrangements follow the score of the “New Bach Edition”. They are playable on every two-manual instrument with pedal. String Quartet no. 2 op. 7 : From the Monkey Mountains

Pavel Haas was one of Leoš Janácek’s most gifted students. His String Quartet No. 2 “From the Monkey Mountains” is considered to be one of the first high points of his oeuvre. In this work, Haas combined elements of Janácek’s compositional technique with jazz, particularly in the fourth movement’s instrumentation for string quartet and percussion ad libitum. This version was premiered in Brno in 1926: later, the work was revised for string quartet only. For this edition Ondrej Pivoda has reconstructed the original version, bringing to light passages that were never published until now. This is the first critical edition of the work. It is based on all relevant sources,taking sketches of the final version of the score and contemporary performance material into account. It includes an extensive Foreword (Cz/Eng/Ger) as well as a Critical Commentary (Eng).

Concerto For Violin, Strings and BC G minor : Reconstructed from BWV 1056

This violin concerto in G minor has not come down to us in the form presented here. It has been reconstructed from a lost violin concerto that survives solely in Bach’s arrangement for harpsichord, namely, as the Harpsichord Concerto in F minor (BWV 1056). The reconstruction is based on a meticulous evaluation of those autograph harpsichord concertos that also survive in an original version for violin. In particular, the autograph harpsichord parts contain changes that Bach made when preparing his arrangements, thereby revealing the manner in which he transcribed his solo violin works for the harpsichord. The keyboard realization is presented in a transparent way allowing players the possibility to embellish and fill in the harmonies at their discretion.

Published in 1648, Heinrich Schütz’s “Geistliche Chor-Music” is still regarded as one of his seminal works. A two-volume performance edition based on Werner Breig’s revised new text is available (BA5901/BA 5902).Now selected motets are being issued in separate volumes. They offer a modern notation and layout, retain the original keys and include an integrated figured bass realisation.In keeping withcontemporary performance practice, the ‘choral’ parts can be performed by instruments as well as voices. Medea [Linen Score + USB] : A Melodrama Interspersed With Music

Georg Anton Benda‘s melodrama „Medea“ (1775) was one of the most successful German musical theatre works of the late 18th century. With a libretto by Friedrich Wilhelm Gotter, the work soon became a great influence within the melodrama genre. For several decades, it was performed all over central Europe, developing an impressive reception history. Between 1775 and about 1790, the melodrama was considered an extremely popular (albeit controversial) part of musical theatre, in particular in German-speaking regions. Consequently, Benda’s „Medea“ was at the center of many heated debates.
