This machine is powered by STIGA 452cc ST 500 petrol engine with a net power output of 6.5kW @ 2800rpm. The manual transmission offers five forward and one reverse gear. It has the same engine and transmission as the Mountfield 1530M. However, it has a wider cutting width of 98 cm and no grass collector box. Instead, shred grass clippings or side-eject longer, coarser grasses while mowing formal lawns. This cuts the time needed to trim big areas by up to 30%. There are seven different cut heights, ranging from 25mm for more formal lawns to 80mm for uneven or damp grass. The cutting quality is excellent, and the twin blades efficiently shred the grass cuttings. Like other Mountfield ride-on mowers, If this machine does go out or stock, you can always look at the Stiga Tornado 398m as it is the same but yellow.
