The personal changing mat Are you or a loved one facing a family extension? Then you can look forward to many cosy moments at the changing table.   There are many ways to personalise your changing table and make it extra cosy - with decorations and cushions and other personal items. And for those who like to sew, a personalised, homemade changing mat will bring great joy every day.   Shaped for the purpose The pillow foam is shaped to standard dimensions to fit all babies and most changing tables. It measures 50x68 cm with a height of 9 cm at the sides and 4 cm in the middle.   And the pattern itself? You'll find it under "Patterns" or by searching for baby cushion (item no. 9031500). Remember to choose the right fabric that's cute, charming and easy to wash.   Foam that keeps its shape This foam is OEKO-TEX® certified polyether foam, which is naturally not treated with flame retardants.   The foam has a high tear strength and is resistant to moisture. At the same time, it is dimensionally stable with a good recovery.   The foam has a density of 25, which means it is soft and comfortable. The hardness is 130 N.   Choose the right foam hardness Foam is not just foam. Once you've spent hours sewing the best-looking cover for your project, you need to choose the right foam to put inside.   The hardness of foam is called Newton (N). The higher the Newton, the harder the foam. You can assume that a foam with 100 N or less is soft, around 140 N is medium soft and more than 160 N is hard.   Naturally, your creative project and ideas will determine which hardness to choose, but as a starting point we recommend: 80-130 N for back cushions, bed frames and similar 110-160 N for sleeping mattresses 130-200 N for seat cushions for chairs, sofas and the like   What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? Cooled down it functions as an ice pack and relieves joint and muscle aches.Handmade cooling and heating pad with grape pipsWith a bit of creative flare, you can make your own cooling and heating pad and fill it with these grape pips. The grape pips are a waste product from an Austrian wine production, and instead of going to waste they can be used in your very own pillow of health. Isn’t that clever – not to mention sustainable!­Microwave oven: Heating in the microwave oven works best in a step by step process. Heat the cushion at max 600 watt for up to 45 seconds. Knead the cushion to diffuse the heat. Use the back of your hand to check if the cushion has the desired temperature. Repeat this process as often as needed to gain the right temperature.­Oven: Place the cushion in a preheated oven at max 80 degrees Celsius for 10-15 minutes. Check the temperature regularly. Knead the cushion one to two times to distribute the heat. Use the back of your hand to check if the cushion has the desired temperature. Let it remain in the oven if you wish it to be warmer. Bear in mind that the heating time depends on the size of the pad.­Cooling: If needed as a cooling pad it needs to go in the freezer. Place the cushion in an airtight bag and leave it in the freezer for 30 minutes to 2 hours. And voilà it’s ready to use. The fridge works sufficiently to cool the cushion if you plan to use it on your head or face.
