Guppyfriend laundry bag 50x74cm 1pc

Guppyfriend laundry bag 50x74cm 1pc

Our GuppyFriend washing bag filters the microfibres released from our synthetic textiles each time we do our laundry and prevents them from ending up in our water.Catch the microfibres and help the environmentWith each wash we do, a line of microfibres are released via our washing machine and into our waste water. This results in microfibres building up in our natural environment – especially when we wash synthetic textiles such as fleece and polyester that both contain microplastics.Once the microplastics enter our rivers, lakes, and oceans, they enter our food chain and pile up in animals and humans. Subsequently this turns into a severe problem so finding methods to minimize the release of microplastics is crucial. Guppyfriend helps you do just that.Use the washing bag and keep your clothes for longerGuppyfriend not only traps loose fibers, it also reduces the number of them by up to 86%. In short it helps reduce the release of microplastics into our wastewater, but it also means less wear and tear of your clothes so you can use it for longer. The microplastic released when washing gets trapped by the Guppyfriend after which it’s easy to remove and dispose of in the bin.How to use it:Add your synthetic clothes and textiles to the washing bag (only fill it 2/3 of the way to enable the clothes to rotate), then place it in the washing machine. Feel free to add more laundry to the machine if needed and wash as usual (at a maximum of 40°C).Remove the textiles from the bag once the washing is finished and carefully collect the microplastic gathered at the seams and dispose of it in the bin. This bag is reusable, measures 50 x 74 cm and is made out of untreated 100% polyamide.

Changing pad 50x68x9/4cm

Changing pad 50x68x9/4cm

The personal changing mat Are you or a loved one facing a family extension? Then you can look forward to many cosy moments at the changing table.   There are many ways to personalise your changing table and make it extra cosy - with decorations and cushions and other personal items. And for those who like to sew, a personalised, homemade changing mat will bring great joy every day.   Shaped for the purpose The pillow foam is shaped to standard dimensions to fit all babies and most changing tables. It measures 50x68 cm with a height of 9 cm at the sides and 4 cm in the middle.   And the pattern itself? You'll find it under "Patterns" or by searching for baby cushion (item no. 9031500). Remember to choose the right fabric that's cute, charming and easy to wash.   Foam that keeps its shape This foam is OEKO-TEX® certified polyether foam, which is naturally not treated with flame retardants.   The foam has a high tear strength and is resistant to moisture. At the same time, it is dimensionally stable with a good recovery.   The foam has a density of 25, which means it is soft and comfortable. The hardness is 130 N.   Choose the right foam hardness Foam is not just foam. Once you've spent hours sewing the best-looking cover for your project, you need to choose the right foam to put inside.   The hardness of foam is called Newton (N). The higher the Newton, the harder the foam. You can assume that a foam with 100 N or less is soft, around 140 N is medium soft and more than 160 N is hard.   Naturally, your creative project and ideas will determine which hardness to choose, but as a starting point we recommend: 80-130 N for back cushions, bed frames and similar 110-160 N for sleeping mattresses 130-200 N for seat cushions for chairs, sofas and the like   What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances. Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.

Heavy linen off-white

Heavy linen off-white

Heavy Linen for DIY  Linen creates a lovely sense of texture in the home! Especially in these beautiful natural colours.     Use linen for long curtains, which create cosiness without entirely blocking out the sun from outside. Or embroider graphic patterns, words, or motifs onto linen, stretch it over a piece of wood, and use it as modern art on the walls.     Setting the Table with Linen  You also can't ignore linen when setting the table. Linen is perfect for a rustic tablecloth, perhaps with matching napkins, which you can simply throw in the washing machine and reuse time and time again.    This heavy linen is also suitable for cushions for the sofa or a cosy basket for your four-legged friends.     Linen – The Natural Material  Linen is a natural fibre that has been used for clothing for thousands of years. It's a durable, lightweight, breathable, and absorbent material, often used in warm weather. It tends to wrinkle, making it perfect for a more casual look.     Did you know that linen becomes softer when you wash it several times?     A Bit More About This Linen  The fabric is made of 100% linen, comes in a width of 140 cm and exactly the length you need. This linen shrinks by 8% when washed.     We recommend using universal needles in size 80 when sewing with this linen.     What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?  OEKO-TEX® is the world's leading health certification for textiles.   When the fabric is certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, it's your guarantee that it has been tested and approved, and is free from any harmful chemicals.

Woven lyocell dark beige

Woven lyocell dark beige

Lyocell offers all sorts of benefitsLyocell is a fantastic fabric and the Lyocell manufacturing process is eco-friendly. A Lyocell fabric has irresistible properties – and you can sew a multitude of creative projects with it.From wood to textile fibresLyocell is made from wood – primarily eucalyptus. The wood is broken down in a chemical process and spun into textile fibres.Lyocell is produced under environmentally friendly conditionsThe method used to convert the plant fibres into textile fibre is similar to that used to produce viscose. However, while not necessarily the case for viscose, Lyocell is always produced in a closed system. No wastewater from Lyocell production is pumped back into the natural environment. More or less all process chemicals and water are recycled.Enjoy Lyocell's moisture-wicking propertiesLyocell has an amazing capacity to absorb sweat and release it again quickly. Lyocell actually releases moisture 50 % faster than cotton. This means that Lyocell regulates body temperature and helps you maintain body water balance.Lyocell is anti-bacterialGood moisture management also means that Lyocell has an anti-bacterial effect. Moisture absorbed directly from your skin is transported to the inside of the fibre – it does not remain on the surface where bacteria have good opportunities to spread.Less odour and less energy consumptionWhen you make Lyocell garments, they are therefore more resistant to odour than cotton. Less odour means fewer washes, lower domestic water consumption and less energy to power the washing machine and tumble drier. Great news for you! You do not have to wash clothes as often – and that is great news for the environment! What are you going to make in Lyocell?Lyocell is ideal for all sorts of creative projects. Use it to make dresses, skirts, trousers, shorts, tunics and tops.Avoid tight-fitting designsWhen you sew in a Lyocell fabric, we recommend that you avoid using sewing patterns for very tight-fitting styles. Lyocell is a woven fabric with relatively little stretch.
