This Full Length Draw Sheet is available with or without side wedges, allowing it to be bought as a spare whilst one is in the wash for cleaning. This new method of preventing a patient from falling out of bed requires no side rails. The Draw Sheet simply attaches to the mattress and is fitted with quick-release buckles. Along each side of the bed is a broad 100mm hook & loop strip. On to the strip fixes a 200mm high, 900mm long wedge that helps to prevent the user from rolling out of bed. The draw sheet & the wedges are covered in Vapour Permeable wipe-clean fabric to promote optimum hygiene. The patient is able to get out of the bed without the entrapment problem of rails but is also protected from the ‘Roll Out’. As it is a cellular compound and utilises a conventional pneumatic tyre, is capable of offering virtually the same ride characteristics as a fully inflated pneumatic tyre. The need to constantly check tyre pressures is eliminated, and as the tyre is always at the correct ‘pressure’ optimum tyre wear is guaranteed. The patented manufacturing system also enables a high degree of control as to how soft or hard a tyre should be, by the amount of rubber compound that is put into the tyre. The system is available in a range of sizes for two-piece rims which can be fitted without the need for returning your customer’s wheels. The process can also be undertaken on single piece rims at our in-house production facility or produced as an insert for retro fitting. It has been found that because the system is permanently in place there is no searching for a slide sheet, or worse, doing without altogether.Using these sheets is as compliant with tissue viability requirements as it is with moving and handling procedure. Both products are made in our factory in the UK and are fully hot washable.They are found to be very useful, not only in hospitals and nursing homes, but also in domestic situations.The ease of turning takes the strain off the carer’s back.
