Bias tape cotton 18mm red 25m

Bias tape cotton 18mm red 25m

Colourful Bias Tapes  Okay – saying everyone might be an exaggeration, but here you really get a whole rainbow of colours to choose from for your DIY project.     Bias tapes are the finishing touch. And the colour – you decide that. Find one that almost matches your project, choose one that provides a subtle shade difference, or go all in on contrast and select one (or several!) that stands out and catches the eye. It's your design – of course, you decide.     The bias tape is 18 mm wide and made of 100% cotton. You get 25 metres of bias tape in one pack.    Use Bias Tapes for ...   Sew bias tapes on blankets and bath towels. Use it on dresses, shirts, and blouses – and for baby clothes and bodysuits. Let the bias tapes serve as beautiful details and elegant finishes on edges and cutouts.     Worth Knowing About Bias Tapes  Bias tapes have the (almost) magical ability to adapt to many fabrics. As the name suggests, they're cut on the bias and therefore naturally follow your curves, necklines, corners, and edges. This provides a beautiful finish.     How to Sew Bias Tape  Bias tapes are for sewing on curves, corners, and straight stretches. When you sew the bias tape onto your project, you sew with straight stitches at about a 2.5 cm stitch length. While sewing, don't pull or stretch it. Let it align perfectly along the edge, ensuring a neat result.     TIP  When you start sewing your bias tape, fold about 2 cm in, so it's double-layered. When finishing, tuck the other end's fold over your folded start. The same principle applies when extending a bias tape.

Shiny satin red

Shiny satin red

Sewing in satinFancy a glossy look for your DIY project? Then you should consider satin! The special weave gives a nice glossy front, a more matte back and a nice shiny look! Our Savina satin is available in many beautiful colours! Find your favourites and order exactly the length you need. Beautiful designs in satinUse satin to create beautiful accessories for everyday and on special occasions. For example, sew a puffy bag or tote bag that you can use for everyday and on special festive occasions. You can also choose to use the shiny fabric as a lining in your project; it adds a beautiful finish. And then, of course, you can use satin for clothing - for example, a nice satin shirt, a pair of cool satin trousers or maybe a jumpsuit with a drawstring waist. The fabric has a width of 135 cm and shrinks about 3% in the wash. It can be washed at 30°, always hang dry and iron at low heat. TIP: Use good quality fleece and interfacing to stabilise smaller parts like collars and cuffs. We recommend ironing it on before cutting out the pattern pieces - and remember to iron without steam (water can leave small stains and the high temperatures from the steam can change the surface of the fabric!) Search "9 tips for sewing satin" for more tips.  What is satin?Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven, where one side of the material is smooth and shiny. For this satin you will need microtex needles.  What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.Meaning it is neither harmful to you nor your health and it’s less harmful to the environment.

Polar fleece red

Polar fleece red

The loveliest projects in fleeceFind your favourite colour and start creating your new project! Polar fleece is light, soft and stretchy - a great material that also insulates. That means it's perfect for lining a jacket or a nice, fluffy vest, for example. This is how easy it is to make a fleece blanketChoose the colour and cut the blanket to the exact size you want and voila: you have a new fleece blanket. It doesn't get any easier than this. And yes - it's good enough - you don't need to sew the edges; the material won't run. If you want to give your rug a nice finish with a sewn edge, we recommend using jersey needles, which are specially developed for qualities like this. They penetrate the fabric easily without leaving holes. Or how about making a reversible blanket or vest with two different colours of fleece - double up on warmth, softness and use. Fleece dries quickly, is robust and durable and therefore very easy to bring along, for example as extra blankets in the caravan. Practical information about polar fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need. It's easy to throw in the washing machine at 40° max and is quick-drying, but can also be tumble-dried at a low temperature if you need it faster. Be aware that it shrinks about 3% in the wash, so it's a good idea to wash the fabric before starting your project. Please remember to use jersey needles (item no. 46799 or 46028) when sewing in fleece. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.
