Bias tape cotton 18mm flowered navy 3m

Bias tape cotton 18mm flowered navy 3m

Use patterned bias tape for details   When you use bias tape in your projects, you achieve a beautiful finish. Have you considered patterned bias tape? It makes details stand out and makes your project even more personal.     This edge tape is patterned in a gorgeous, matte cotton quality. Use it as an edge on a pocket, around the neckline, or anywhere you wish to add colour and make the finish a bit more special.     The bias tape is 18 mm wide, made of 100% cotton, and comes in a package of 3 meters.     Use bias tape for ...   Sew bias tape on blankets and bath towels. Use it on dresses, shirts, and blouses – and for baby clothes and bodysuits. Let the bias tape act as fine details and beautiful finishes on edges and cut-outs.     Worth knowing about bias tape  Bias tape has the (almost) magical ability to adapt to many fabrics. As the name suggests, it's cut on the bias, so it naturally follows your curves, necklines, corners, and edges. This results in a beautiful finish.     How to sew on bias tape  Bias tape is for sewing onto curves, corners, and straight stretches. When you sew the bias tape onto your project, you use straight stitches with a stitch length of about 2.5 cm. As you sew, you must not pull or stretch it. Let it align naturally along the edge to get a neat result.     TIP  When you start sewing your bias tape on, fold in about 2 cm, so it's double-layered. When you finish, tuck the other end's fold over your folded start. The same principle applies when extending the bias tape.

Cotton canvas navy

Cotton canvas navy

100% cotton canvas for your next DIY project A durable, tightly woven piece of cotton canvas can be used for many exciting DIY projects. Select your favourites and sew delightful storage and laundry baskets for the home, lovely bags, spacious storage bags or a cool duffel bag.   Decorate with intricate details for your very personal look.   Get out the paintbrush Use the cotton canvas as your canvas – quite literally. Stretch the fabric onto a frame, find brushes and paint, let the colours flow freely, and create a personal painting that can adorn the wall in the living room, the children's room or the holiday home. It can only turn out well!  A few more details Cotton canvas is a tightly woven, durable and hard-wearing fabric that you can use for projects requiring a robust surface.   The fabric by the metre is made of 100% cotton, has a width of 140 cm, and can be ordered by the metre. Expect it to shrink 3% upon washing.   Since cotton canvas is a heavy material, it's crucial to use the right needle and thread. We recommend either a jeans needle or a universal needle size 90 along with a robust thread. You might want to increase the stitch length to give your project a genuinely exquisite look.   What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? OEKO-TEX® is the world's leading health label for textiles.  When the fabric by the metre is certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, it's your assurance that it has been tested and approved and is free from any harmful chemicals.

Corduroy 8 wales navy

Corduroy 8 wales navy

Modern retro in velvetWho doesn't dream of a pair of cool corduroy trousers for everyday and festive wear? We certainly do! And this corduroy is perfect for the purpose. It contains wide ridges (8 Wales) and is made from 100% cotton, so it is comfortable to wear and breathable. Velvet is hardwearing and suitable for both clothing and creative projects for the home. Velvet for you - and your home! You decide what you want to sew. There are of course the classic corduroy trousers, but it could also be a nice shirt-dress, a cool spencer or maybe a smaller project like a lovely bucket hat? And when it comes to home-ware: How about sewing some velvet cushions for the sofa? Or you can use velvet to make the coolest shopper or belt bag. Find your favourite colours and get started with scissors, needle and thread!   Velvet is sold by the metre, so simply order the length you need. The width is 140 cm and the fabric shrinks about 3% in the wash.   Remember to use the right needles - we recommend a size 80 universal needle.  What is Wales? Wales indicates the width of the raised ridges in the velvet that defines the velvety texture of the fabric. A low Wales indicates wide ridges i.e. less ridges per inch. On the other hand, a high Wales indicates narrow ridges. For example velvet with 4 Wales per inch has wide ridges and will feel heavier, while velvet with 21 Wales per inch has narrow ridges and will feel finer. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®? Polar fleece navy

Polar fleece navy

The loveliest projects in fleeceFind your favourite colour and start creating your new project! Polar fleece is light, soft and stretchy - a great material that also insulates. That means it's perfect for lining a jacket or a nice, fluffy vest, for example. This is how easy it is to make a fleece blanketChoose the colour and cut the blanket to the exact size you want and voila: you have a new fleece blanket. It doesn't get any easier than this. And yes - it's good enough - you don't need to sew the edges; the material won't run. If you want to give your rug a nice finish with a sewn edge, we recommend using jersey needles, which are specially developed for qualities like this. They penetrate the fabric easily without leaving holes. Or how about making a reversible blanket or vest with two different colours of fleece - double up on warmth, softness and use. Fleece dries quickly, is robust and durable and therefore very easy to bring along, for example as extra blankets in the caravan. Practical information about polar fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need. It's easy to throw in the washing machine at 40° max and is quick-drying, but can also be tumble-dried at a low temperature if you need it faster. Be aware that it shrinks about 3% in the wash, so it's a good idea to wash the fabric before starting your project. Please remember to use jersey needles (item no. 46799 or 46028) when sewing in fleece. What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.

Shiny satin navy

Shiny satin navy

Sewing in satinFancy a glossy look for your DIY project? Then you should consider satin! The special weave gives a nice glossy front, a more matte back and a nice shiny look! Our Savina satin is available in many beautiful colours! Find your favourites and order exactly the length you need. Beautiful designs in satinUse satin to create beautiful accessories for everyday and on special occasions. For example, sew a puffy bag or tote bag that you can use for everyday and on special festive occasions. You can also choose to use the shiny fabric as a lining in your project; it adds a beautiful finish. And then, of course, you can use satin for clothing - for example, a nice satin shirt, a pair of cool satin trousers or maybe a jumpsuit with a drawstring waist. The fabric has a width of 135 cm and shrinks about 3% in the wash. It can be washed at 30°, always hang dry and iron at low heat. TIP: Use good quality fleece and interfacing to stabilise smaller parts like collars and cuffs. We recommend ironing it on before cutting out the pattern pieces - and remember to iron without steam (water can leave small stains and the high temperatures from the steam can change the surface of the fabric!) For this satin you will need microtex needles.  What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?OEKO-TEX® is the world-leading label for textiles tested for harmful substances.Once the fabric has achieved a STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification, it is your guarantee it has been tested and approved not to contain any harmful chemicals.Meaning it is neither harmful to you nor your health and it’s less harmful to the environment.
