Fleece is not just fleeceWith micro fleece you have the very fine fleece quality. The one where the structure is soft, dense and smooth. It opens up a range of exciting DIY possibilities from clothing to home decor. What should I use micro fleece for?With micro fleece, you can dial down the classic fleece look without having to compromise on all of the familiar qualities: the fabric is still soft, lightweight and stretchy. It insulates well and has been given an anti-pilling treatment meaning that it's virtually lint-free. Furthermore it's tough and dries quickly. Use the fabric for a comfy fleece jacket or vest, for example, where the heat-insulating effect really comes in handy on cold days. Or make a cool loungewear set in your favourite colour. You can also use micro fleece in furnishings for blankets (where you don't even need to sew on a border) and cushions. Please remember to use jersey needles (item no. 46799 or 46028) when sewing in fleece. Practical information about fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need. You can wash this fleece at 40° and tumble dry at low heat. Be aware that it shrinks about 3% in the wash, so it's a good idea to wash the fabric before starting your project.

That means it's perfect for lining a jacket or a nice, fluffy vest, for example. This is how easy it is to make a fleece blanketChoose the colour and cut the blanket to the exact size you want and voila: you have a new fleece blanket. It doesn't get any easier than this. And yes - it's good enough - you don't need to sew the edges; the material won't run. If you want to give your rug a nice finish with a sewn edge, we recommend using jersey needles, which are specially developed for qualities like this. They penetrate the fabric easily without leaving holes. Or how about making a reversible blanket or vest with two different colours of fleece - double up on warmth, softness and use. Fleece dries quickly, is robust and durable and therefore very easy to bring along, for example as extra blankets in the caravan. Practical information about polar fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need. It consists of an outer material that is windproof and water-repellent, while the inside is soft and flexible. All in all, it's a combination that offers you great comfort and freedom of movement.  The quality is windproof and waterproof with a water column pressure of 5,000 mm and good breathability of 3,000 mm.  Softshell or Rainwear? In general, softshell is more breathable than traditional rainwear, making it more comfortable to wear when you're active.  Many wear softshell regardless of the weather: You're prepared for a rain shower, and at the same time, the soft inner layer keeps you comfortably warm.  About Water Column Pressure Water column pressure indicates how much water the material can withstand before it starts to penetrate. The higher the water column pressure, the more waterproof it is. A good rule of thumb is that +2,000 mm is suitable for light rain showers/short trips in the rain, while +5,000 is for a heavier rain shower or a couple of hours in light rain. If you're going to be out in heavy rain, we recommend +8,000 mm.  Some Practical Information This fabric consists of 95% polyester and 5% elastane. The special weave gives a nice glossy front, a more matte back and a nice shiny look! Our Savina satin is available in many beautiful colours! Find your favourites and order exactly the length you need. Beautiful designs in satinUse satin to create beautiful accessories for everyday and on special occasions. For example, sew a puffy bag or tote bag that you can use for everyday and on special festive occasions. You can also choose to use the shiny fabric as a lining in your project; it adds a beautiful finish. And then, of course, you can use satin for clothing - for example, a nice satin shirt, a pair of cool satin trousers or maybe a jumpsuit with a drawstring waist. The fabric has a width of 135 cm and shrinks about 3% in the wash. It can be washed at 30°, always hang dry and iron at low heat. TIP: Use good quality fleece and interfacing to stabilise smaller parts like collars and cuffs. We recommend ironing it on before cutting out the pattern pieces - and remember to iron without steam (water can leave small stains and the high temperatures from the steam can change the surface of the fabric!)
