This opaque, water-based textile marker is suitable for drawing on fabrics in all colours; both light and dark. This fabric paint pen is best used on cotton, denim, linen, silk, or textile blends containing up to 20 % synthetic fibres. Use your marker on already finished projects, or decorate them as you sew. The textile marker has a stroke width of 2-4 mm, making it an especially suitable all-round marker for decorative projects, upcycling or labelling children’s clothing, and more. We recommend placing a plastic sheet between your fabric layers, to prevent the dye from staining the underlying layers. Remove the cap and shake the pen for 1-2 minutes before use. Push the felt tip down several times, if necessary, to allow the paint to satiate the tip. After use, we recommend leaving your project to dry for at least six hours, before heat-fixing it with an iron. Cover your project, i.e. with a tea towel or another cloth, to protect it during fixation. Your project is now washable at up to 60°C - please wash inside out. To prevent the tip from drying out, please store your textile markers horizontally. The fabric marker is not suitable for children under three years of age.

Javana batik dye black 70g

Create your unique textiles with batik dying. Batik textile dyes are best used on cotton, viscose, linen, half panama, silk, wool, or polyamide. The screw-cap container contains 70 g of dye powder. Take what you need, mix it in accordance with the instructions, and save the rest for later. The more pigment you add, the stronger your colours become. Use 70 g of dye powder per 200g of fabric for strong colouration. Use 70 grs of poweder per 400 g of fabric for a less intense colouration. This batik textile dye paint is suitable for various dyeing techniques, e.g. tie-dye and dip-dye. Always wash the fabric before starting to paint. Fill a bucket or tub with very hot water (95°C), enough to cover your fabric. Add your dye and stir until completely dissolved. Then immerse the damp fabric in the colour bath. NB: Make sure that the dye is completely dissolved before you add the fabric. If not, the results will be spotty or uneven. Leave the fabric to soak for no more than one hour . Rinse your fabric with hot water. Batik dyes do not tolerate high temperatures. Wash your dyed fabric at max 40°C. Wash separately the first time. NB: To enhance the colours and prevent them for wearing off, we recommend you use our Javana fixing agent. Without fixing agent, the dyes will soon wash out.

Properties Lightweight, very fine fusible woven interlining made from synthetic fibres. Weight 30 g/m2 Application areas For the fusing of small parts in blouses and dresses and front parts of elastic jackets. Suitable for lightweight, transparent and sensitive fabrics. Processing As with all interlinings from Vlieseline, this woven interlining is always cut lengthwise following the direction of the thread. Place the interlining on the reverse side of the fabric with the coated side facing down and initially fix in place at a few points at a low temperature to prevent warping. Then cover with a damp cloth and iron on thoroughly, section by section, for around 8 seconds. Do not push the iron. After fixing, lay the pieces down flat to cool down for around 30 minutes to allow the bond to stabilise. Cotton satin - the best of both worldsHow about trying our soft cotton fabric in a range of beautiful colours for your next creative project. It's soft and comfortable to work with.Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven. This means that when we say cotton satin, it has the same beautiful weave as more 'classic' satin, while the cotton quality gives a more matt finish to the fabric.  And what can you use cotton satin for? Well, that’s entirely up to you. We prefer using it for bed linen. The natural material of the cotton in the delicate satin weave makes for some really lovely home made bed linen. As with so many other cottons, it is also suitable for clothing. Cotton is comfortable to wear and the fine weave gives it a nice finish - for a summer shirt or skirt, for example. Cotton satin is also perfect for a tablecloth for the table. Sew the tablecloth yourself or select "Sew as a tablecloth" and we will sew it for you (click on the text for details). Practical information about cotton satinMade from 100% cotton, it's soft and fluffy and, as always, you buy the fabric by the metre, so you get exactly the length you need. The fabric is 145 cm wide, has a weight of 130 grams and shrinks about 8% in the wash. You can wash it at 60° and iron at medium heat - but avoid the tumble dryer; let it air dry instead. TIP: Finish your seams properly - satin tends to fray a lot. You could also consider using a wider seam allowance to secure your seams or use overlock stitching. As always - test your seams on a scrap piece beforehand to see which technique works best for your piece of fabric. Search "9 tips for sewing satin" for more tips. What is satin? Satin refers to the way the fabric is woven, where one side of the material is smooth and shiny. And while you can design and sew a wool coat from many different types of wool, you'll get the classic look when you choose this wadding for your project. In short, it's a look that never goes out of fashion and is perfect for children, young people and adults alike. That said, you naturally calf's wool is usable for all sorts of other things. The material is long lasting and water-repellent, making it ideal for outerwear. For example, have you considered a short jacket - perhaps with a zip - or a roomy poncho that's easy to pull over your head and cosy to snuggle up in?  We also use the wool for shirts with pockets, where the heavy felted quality gives the shirt a pretty cool look.  Homespun - what is it?Homespun is a lightweight twill woven wool that has been processed with water, soap, heat and beating, then scratched up to give you a dense structure that is virtually windproof and waterproof. Originally, wadding was made from pure wool and used, for example, for work wear. Today, it is often a blended product to ensure the best possible quality. Practical InformationThis fabric is made up of 65% wool, 25% nylon and 10% polyester. It is 145 cm wide and you can choose the number of metres you need for your project. Please note that this wool is not washable. Remember to use the right needles - we recommend using universal needles when sewing with this wool. And a little tip: you can increase the stitch length to get a nice finished look.
