Despite Verner Panton being part of Danish furniture design's important mid-century, his expression and design philosophy were far from the simple one practiced by his Danish and Scandinavian colleagues. The passion for exploring the possibilities of unconventional material types and flashy colours was an essential part of the DNA of many of his sculptural works.
