Overlock thread white 5000m

Premium quality overlock thread in 100 % polyester, suitable for use with all overlockers. Overlock thread is slightly finer than regular sewing thread. An overlocker works differently than a sewing machine. Overlocked seams are stretchier. While an overlocker sews with one or two needles and two loopers, a sewing machine sews with an upper thread and a lower thread that lock together between the fabric layers. In overlock stitching, two threads wrap around the edge of the fabric. Essentially, overlock stitching creates a seam and binds edges at the same time. Due to the special overlocker technique and threading, overlock thread is available on 5000 m cones. Our overlock thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified.

This is durable, soft and 100 % natural, high-quality thread made of Egyptian cotton, which you can use for hand-sewn and machine-sewn projects. The thread is mercerised – i.e. it has been pre-treated to strengthen the fibres. Mercerised thread is softer and glossier. For great results, use it in all your projects. The mercerisation process ensures that cotton thread shrinks less and therefore keeps its shape better.  Our cotton thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified.

Interlining MASK ILC 151

This soft interlining is an intermediate fabric, developed specially as intermediate layer for face masks. It is easy to work with using both sewing machine and by hand. The smooth side should face toward your mouth. You can use either one layer of interlining or a double layer in the face mask. The interlining has a fine pore density, is a breathable fabric and can be washed at 60 degrees. Textile is not a material suitable for professional face masks. Always keep updated and follow the recommendations from the National Health Service.

An extra strong sewing thread, made of 100 % polyester, that is incredibly strong due to its high breaking strength and elasticity. Use it with a 110-130 needle on your sewing machine, depending on the thickness of the material you are working with. Our extra strong thread is OEKO-TEX 100 certified. Nm 36/2Nm (metric thread number) = indicates the length of 1 g of thread. The higher the number, the finer the thread.Example:Nm 30/1 means that 30 m weighs one gram and that the thread consists of a single strand.Nm 30/2 means that 30 m weighs two grams and that the thread is twisted from two single strands.

Great for sports This material is comfortable to wear and offers maximum freedom of movement. This means it's brilliant for all kinds of sports, so you can confidently start sewing sporty leggings and tops for your own and others' active pursuits.  And if you're more into water? Then the black variant is your go-to. It's chlorine-resistant, making it suitable for swimsuits, bikinis, and swim shorts.  And great for everything else We've covered the sporty designs, but you can also use this fabric for everyday and party wear for both adults and children. It measures 150 cm in width, and you can expect it to shrink by 6% when washed. Choose the length you need for your DIY project. When working with jersey, we recommend using a jersey needle, which is characterised by having a medium point – also known as ball point. The needle easily penetrates the knitted quality and prevents stitches and threads from running. For this type of jersey, we recommend jersey needles in size 70/80.

Or are you in the process of designing your confirmation dress but need the perfect blank fabric to bring your design to life? Party satin - or duchess satin - is a great choice: Its bright colours and elegant drape give you plenty of options for creating festive dresses, shirts, tops, bow ties, vests and trouser suits.   And if you want it all to match, you can also sew a small clutch to go with it. A little more about this satinMade from 100% polyester, this satin has a nice drape and the classic satin look in a variety of colours. The fabric is 145 cm wide, has a weight of 150 grams and shrinks about 1% in the wash. You can machine wash it at 40° - remember that it should always be hang-dried and only ironed at low heat. TIP: Avoid water and water-based markers - they can leave small stains (same goes for hand cream!). Instead, use tailor's chalk to make markings. Always make a test on a small piece first, then draw on the back. And - while we're on the subject of water - never use steam on satin as it can leave water stains and the high temperature from the steam can change the lustre of the fabric. That means it's perfect for lining a jacket or a nice, fluffy vest, for example. This is how easy it is to make a fleece blanketChoose the colour and cut the blanket to the exact size you want and voila: you have a new fleece blanket. It doesn't get any easier than this. And yes - it's good enough - you don't need to sew the edges; the material won't run. If you want to give your rug a nice finish with a sewn edge, we recommend using jersey needles, which are specially developed for qualities like this. They penetrate the fabric easily without leaving holes. Or how about making a reversible blanket or vest with two different colours of fleece - double up on warmth, softness and use. Fleece dries quickly, is robust and durable and therefore very easy to bring along, for example as extra blankets in the caravan. Practical information about polar fleeceThe fabric is 145 cm wide and you buy it by the metre, so you get the length you need.
