Kidde Airsense Stratos Remote Display Unit 9-30802The Remote Display Unit RDU is a LED bar-graph repeater and status display which is used to remotely mimic the status of a Stratos ASD. It comes in 19 rack format that allow for multiple units to be mounted next to each other in a 19 rack or individually with the support of the 9-30817 housing.The RDU is connected onto the SenseNET bus which provide the data flow between the unit and the ASD. A bank of switches selects the detector whose display is to be repeated. The unit is powered from a 24V DC nominal power supply.The RDU provide by way of LEDs basic ok and faults indication 4 alarm levels and a bar-graph display which show the level of obscuration. Background drift is daily compensated to maintain the original calibrated sensitivity within the required limits.Once a day the detector performs a full diagnostic test that includes dynamically testing the sensing chamber and internal electronics. If a detector drifts out of sensitivity range or fails the internal diagnostics test this is reported back to the panel and indicated on the detector with a yellow fault LED.Maintenance friendly sensitivity level test modeThe 700 Series photoelectric detectors include a sensitivity test mode that may be activated by simply holding a magnet near the detectors test point. This initiates a self-diagnostic routine and provides visual indication if service is required. This test mode allows field sensitivity testing without the requirement for external meters or test gas.Field cleaning and serviceThe photoelectric sensing chamber unclips from the detector for easy field cleaning and service. During regular maintenance the detector cover can be removed the optical chamber removed and replaced by a low cost new chamber.
