As installation in this application provides significant challenges the 1-B6782-190 junction box helps to simplify the installation.On a floating roof tank the roof itself is designed to move up and down as the tank is filled or emptied preventing any vapour space in the tank. The difficulty is maintaining an electrical connection between the top of the tank and the moving tank roof. Kidde Airsense ADELCU-2 Alarmline II Digital LHD EN54-28 Dual Zone Location Control UnitThe ADELCU-2 digital location control unit is a dual zone module for monitoring up to two zones of AlarmLine II Digital EN Linear Heat Detection Cable. If an overheat or fire situation triggers either zone of the digital cable the unit automatically calculates and displays the distance along the cable in feet and metres to the alarm point.The two zones can operate independently of each other or in interlock mode. A separate alarm and normally conducting fault output are provided for each zone. The unit is intended to be installed between the AlarmLine II digital EN linear heat detection cable and a conventional or addressable fire alarm control panel. It has power fault and alarm indicators as well as free outputs for fault and alarm corresponding to each zone. It may also be connected to a industrial process control system using the two wire RS-485 Modbus RTU output.Modbus communicationThe unit includes a two wire RS-485 Modbus output which can be enabled to output the status of each zone of the digital location control unit via Modbus RTUASCII protocol. In case of an alarm the location in distance along the cable is also communicated via Modbus.Interconnecting cableThe unit supports the use of a interconnecting cable leader cable in between the control unit and the linear heat detection cable. The interconnecting cable is used in applications where the control unit is not located in the detection zone. The interconnecting cable is then used to connect the control unit in one location with the linear heat detection cable in the protected area. It offers cable entry from behind when used with hidden cable trunking or cable entry from the top and bottom when surface mount cable trunking is used. Suitable mounting screws to fit the compatible manual call point to the back box are conveniently housed in the base of the box. A screen connection terminal is provided for convenient cable screen connection when used in electricity noisy environments.Adjustable screw mounting holes allows for perfect alignment of the back box even if the drilled holes are not exactly level. The flexibility of cable entry from the large opening in the rear or the dust proof knockouts at the top and bottom of the unit greatly enhances the applications possible for fitting in all types of installations.
