The unit features reverse input polarity protection while no-fail earth fault detection on either line can be provided by connecting an earth leakage detector to terminal 3 andor 6. This galvanic isolator is CE marked and replaces the MTL3043 barrier option. It is suitable for connecting loads in Zone 0 IIC T4-T6 hazardous areas if suitably certified.The MTL5500 range of isolators provide intrinsically safe IS communication and signal conditioning for a wide range of hazardous-area devices. Total AC and DC isolation exists between input output and power supply on separately powered units and between input and output on loop-powered units. No IS earth is required. It has been designed and tested against the stringent requirements of the 10th edition including new tests to confirm the integrity of the software in the device. The Digital Interface Monitor Module simultaneously monitors two zones of Digital LHD cable for an alarm or fault condition. If an overheat or fire situation triggers either zone of the Digital LHD cable the Module automatically calculates and displays the distance along the cable in feet and metres to the alarm point.
