Another part of the popular series of turn-based strategies with small worms armed to the teeth. The title refers to the first games from the worm cycle and, unlike the previous three-dimensional Worms, it offers a classic game with a camera placed on the side of the action (as in 2D games). The game was developed by Team 17 studio.
We are again witnessing spectacular clashes between teams composed of fighting worms. Like the previous titles in the series, the game is played in turns. Players have a certain time limit to move a character and then take an offensive action against the worms of a competing team.
The developer has put at his disposal an extensive arsenal of extermination measures. Worms can use various types of firearms, rocket and grenade launchers, there were also the cult fans of the Holy Hand Grenade series or remotely controlled Super Sheep. In addition to this arsenal, there are also useful tools - a rope, a parachute or a torch. There are a few new types of weapons in Revolution - for example telekinesis, water pistol or Boggy-B.
A novelty in the series is the existence of physical objects - shells, screws, lighters - that we can move or destroy at our discretion. For the first time since 1995, worms have also been divided into classes that differ in strength and appearance - including scientist, soldier, ranger and scout. The addition is also the presence of water, which is now not limited to the reservoir at the bottom of the map, but also appears on the boards themselves - it can be used to water your opponent or wash him off the surface.
Worms: Revolution runs on a new graphics engine, created especially for this game. The sets we fight among are three-dimensional, but the gameplay itself takes place from the side. At the same time, the comic book style, present for example in the penultimate title in the series - Reloaded, was abandoned. The game is only available in digital distribution.
