Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War is the seventeenth main installment of the popular FPS series, developed by Activision Blizzard since 2003. The production was developed by the publisher's Treyarch studio, which has been in charge of the Black Ops sub-series since its inception. Story The plot of Call of Duty Cold War is a standalone story that does not require knowledge of the previous installments of the series to understand. Nevertheless, the game features characters known from previous productions under this banner, led by Mason, Woods and Hudson, and they are joined by a CIA agent, Russel Adler, who has not been introduced to the players before. As the title suggests, the action of the game is set during the Cold War; during the game, however, we have to thwart the plans of an enigmatic KGB agent, known under the code name Perseus. Interestingly, the game has several endings - which one we see depends on the decisions we make during the final stages. Gameplay In Black Ops Cold War we observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP). Interestingly, for the first time in the series, we will create our character - the hero we will play. We cannot decide on the appearance, but we will choose the gender, the history of previous service and perks that facilitate the game. The pillar of the single player mode are missions that take us to various corners of the world; the latter included a gigantic Soviet training facility for soldiers, as well as cities such as Moscow and Berlin. The tasks we face are diverse - although there are many of them that require us to take part in bloody and spectacular shootings, we often act quietly, sneaking up behind the backs of enemies. Interestingly, from time to time, the authors also allow us to decide how we will solve the problems that stand in our way. In addition, at certain moments we make choices that affect the further course of the plot and its ending.
