The action is very dynamic and the corpse is thick. The game also draws elements from roguelics: randomly generated locations help to diversify the gameplay.  West of Dead has a distinctive comic-like art style. The very appearance of the main character, voiced by Ron Perlman (Fallout series, Hellboy and Pacific Rim series), resembles the character of Ghost Rider created by Marvel. The visual setting has been kept in a dark tone.
