San Pablo Reserva 12 Years Curaçao Rum The first rum, San Pablo Gold Rum was produced in Cuba in the 1920's by Sr Justo Gonzalez. In the 1930's an export deal was done with August Damian Jonckheer from the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao, and the rum made its way to the island. After years of importing the rum, in 1945 the first small batch was crafted on the island, creating Curaçao's first rum. By 1960, the distillery in Cuba had closed and August Damian Jonckheer purchased the company and the recipes, before building the Ron San Pablo production facility in Curaçao. Over the next 30 years, San Pablo established itself as the most popular rum on the island. Moving into a new era, in 2021 the San Pablo Reserva 1945 range was born. A range of exquisite, blended rums made from the finest rums in the world, and using a recipe that had been locked away for over 60 years in the company vault. San Pablo Reserva 15 Years Curaçao Rum is the apex of the 1945 rum range, made from the highest quality ingredients and using a blend of rums aged for a minimum of 15 years. Lebensstern Alpine Gin The story behind the Lebensstern range of gins starts in Berlin. The Lebensstern Bar is located in a former 1920s illegal casino situated above Cafe Einstein. They are well-known for their excellent cocktails, and an impressive collection of bottles (more than 1,800 spirit, including 600 rums and 200 gins). Their range of gins are produced by the Destillerie Freihof in Lustenau, Austria. Here they have been distilling since 1885 - and remains a family owned company to this day. For this Gin, they took inspiration from the Alpine region, and used a number of herbs and botanicals found there. Even the light blue hue to the gin is reminiscent of the alpine sky. The aroma has delicate hints of piney juniper, as well as well as fresh, floral herbal notes. On the palate again, the herbal flavours merge perfectly with the juniper. A light floral quality, with elderflower and citrus as backing notes ensures this is a really refreshing gin. More from Lebensstern Perfect Serve This can be enjoyed slowly over plenty of ice, however we liked this best mixed with an elderflower tonic. This adds a little more sweetness and enhances that found in the gin. Fentimans Elderflower Tonic worked exceptionally well. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently. Garnish with a slice of lemon.

Ginraw Orange Blossom Gin Following the success of their original, gastronomic gin, the team have now leveraged their knowledge and experience to create the Ginraw Flavours Range. Bringing together the knowledge and experience of their team of masters in their craft (a chef, a mixologist, a perfumer and a sommelier), they have created three delicious additions to the Ginraw range. Their Orange Blossom edition takes inspiration from the enticing and highly aromatic orange blossom. This is mixed with the complex flavours found in Lemongrass, and a freshness from mint. The orange blossoms not only give this gin a fragrant aroma, but adds floral, sweet, green notes to the gin. The lemongrass adds an earthy herbaceousness - fresh, clean, and also adds to the aroma. It also adds a delicate - but balancing touch of acidity to the gin. Lastly (but certainly not least), the mint brings distinct freshness which helps really open up the palate. It also brings herbaceous notes, and a delicate sweet top note. More from GINRAW Perfect Serve As this is a flavoured gin, we recommend using a neutral tonic to ensure the flavours found in the gin are not overwhelmed. For this one we found Seventeen Tonic Water worked well.  Take a large glass and fill with ice. Gently pour over 50ml of the gin, and 200ml of your chosen tonic. Stir gently and garnish with a twist of orange peel.

Lebensstern Pink Gin The story behind the Lebensstern range of gins starts in Berlin. The Lebensstern Bar is located in a former 1920s illegal casino situated above Cafe Einstein. Their range of gins are produced by the Destillerie Freihof in Lustenau, Austria. Here they have been distilling since 1885 - and remains a family owned company to this day. The Pink Gin re-creates the pinks gins which were enjoyed in the mid 19th century. These were created using Plymouth Gin and a few dashes of Angostura Bitters. These dark red bitters gave the drink a pink hue. This means this isnt a pink gin like a number of those found today (which are typically sweet and fruity). This gin has definite herbal aromas, with hints of pine from the juniper. On the palate there herbal notes continue, blending perfectly with the classic juniper. These are joined by a delicate floral tone, and a very delicate sweetness from elderflower. More from Lebensstern Perfect Serve This can be enjoyed slowly over plenty of ice, however we liked this best mixed with an elderflower tonic. The Macallan 12 Year Double Cask Whisky 70cl

The Macallan 12 Year Double Cask Whisky Founded in 1824 (making it nearly 200 years old) The Macallan distillery is located in Craigellachie, Moray in Scotland. The Macallen is classed as the second or third best-selling single malt scotch (behind Glenfiddich, and perhaps Glenlivet). Initially The Macallan was only matured in oak sherry casks, which the distillery brought from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. However in 2004 they introduced the Fine Oak series (now known as the Triple Cask Matured range), which started mellowing whisky in bourbon oak casks as well as the classic sherry casks. The Double Cask whiskies encompass part of their core range, and this 12 Year whisky falls into this category. The Macallan team ensure a mix of European and American sherry seasoned oak casks - which allow the indulgent, yet delicate flavours of the American oak to take centre stage. The more traditional Macallan character is however still present (rich fruit, sherry and spiced wood), but in a familiar backdrop.  This is a single malt with a delightful autumnal sunset colour to it. Exceptionally well balanced, fully rounded with flavours of honey, citrus and ginger. The nose has oak, creamy butterscotch and vanilla - as well as fruit from toffee apples and candied oranges. On the palate honey, citrus and wood spices and the ginger comes through, which are perfectly balanced against raisins and caramel. The finish leaves oak lingering on the palate along with a sweet warmth. More from The Macallan Perfect Serve As with all whiskies, this is best drunk how you personally enjoy it. However the distillery recommends trying with a single large piece of ice. The large cube of ice melts slowly, diluting the drink less - ensuring you are able to enjoy a chilled drinking experience whilst tasting every drop of flavour.
