Bombay Original London Dry Gin 1L

Bombay Original London Dry Gin 1L

Bombay Original London Dry Gin The history behind the Bombay Sapphire brand goes back to 1986 in England, where the gins were distilled in Warrington. However in 2014 their home moved to a dedicated distillery at Laverstock Mill in Hampshire. They distill their gins using vapour infusion. This method suspends the botanicals over the boiling alcohol, and the vapour is infused with the flavours and aromas of the botanicals as it passes over them. This is a more delicate method of distilling, and  results in a  lighter and more floral taste. Two of their four stills (of the carterhead variety, and named Tom and Mary) date back to the 1830's. Whereas their Bombay Sapphire Gin, found in the blue bottles) use 10 different botanicals, their Bombay London Dry Gin uses only 8 carefully selected botanicals.  These are Juniper Berries, Liquorice, Cassia Bark, Coriander Seeds, Angelica Root, Lemon Peel, Orris (Iris) root and Almonds. Their recipe takes inspiration from an original dating back  to 1761. On the nose this has a fresh aroma, with grassy herbal notes, piney juniper and hints of lemon citrus. This leads into a palate which is equally fresh and full of classic dry juniper flavours. These are enhanced by a mild hint of lemon and more herbal notes from coriander. It finishes crisp and clean leaving the palate with pleasant dryness. More from Bombay Perfect Serve Whilst this works well in cocktails, as a true original classic dry gin we think this makes the perfect G&T. Take a large / tall glass and fill with ice. Add 50ml of the gin and pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen (neutral) tonic. Whilst any premium tonic will work well, we like East Imperial Tonic Water. Stir gently, and garnish with a slice or two of lemon.

Nolet's Silver Dry Gin 70cl

Nolet's Silver Dry Gin 70cl

Nolet's Silver Dry Gin Carl Jr, and Bob Nolet collaborated with their father (Carolus Sr) in the creation of this gin, using generations of knowledge (the Nolet distillery goes back over 325 years) to ensure this would be something special, and unique. They wanted to create something new, which would appeal to the new generation of gin drinker. By using a unique combination of botanicals, they have definitely succeeded. Whilst creating something new and fresh, they ensure that tradition isn't ignored, and the knowledge and experience shows in the end product. Each of their three signature botanicals in this gin are independently distilled in copper pot stills. They are then expertly blended with the base gin. Using Turkish Rose, they have ensured this gin has a delicate refined air. It gives a distinct floral aroma, and delicious note to the taste. Peach adds a freshness, and lends a fruity sweetness to the gin. Their third botanical which makes this gin different it raspberry. This robust fruit lends a delicious tartness to the gin, which stops the sweetness from the peach becoming too overpowering. When drinking this gin the juniper isnt overpowering, neither in the smell or the taste. It's still there (this is a gin after all), but its definitely muted. The floral notes greet you as soon as you open the bottle. Rose, along with an almost lavender note are present, and a delicate mint like aroma is there too.  Overall this is a really floral, smooth gin. It has a delicate sweet fruitniess, but this is definitely first and foremost a floral gin. Perfect for those who like the juniper to be a back note rather than at the fore. More from Nolet's Perfect Serve This makes an absolutely delicious Gin and Tonic, and has enough flavour in the gin that a neutral tonic such as Fever-Tree Indian Tonic works really well, allowing the flavours in the gin to shine. If you would like it a little sweeter, try with Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic which also adds extra floral notes. Serve in a large copa glass with plenty of ice, 50ml of the gin and 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic. A thin slice of peach and a raspberry work particularly well as a garnish.

Arbikie Strawberry Vodka 50cl

Arbikie Strawberry Vodka 50cl

Arbikie Strawberry Vodka With a history going back through four generations, the Arbikie Highland Estate is a family owned farm located on the east coast of Angus (between Dundee and Aberdeen in Scotland). In an area where the weather and seasons can be turbulent, the family plant, sow, tend and harvest - resulting in crops of quality, which have been grown with passion. Now, three of the family brothers (John, Iain and David) are the visionaries and driving force behind the Arbikie Highland Estate distillery - creating drinks with the same passion that their famly has farmed the land with through the generations. To create their Strawberry Vodka, they use their potato vodka, and fresh strawberries. As the flavours come from fresh strawberries (and not artificial flavourings or chemicals), each season results in a slightly different taste - which reflects the seasons’ changeable weather. The strawberries give the smooth vodka a naturally fruity sweet flavour, with an enticing aroma of strawberry jam. More from Arbikie Highland Estate Perfect Serve Whilst we love the sweet fruity flavours in this vodka on its own, it's exceptional in adding a fruity edge to cocktails. How about a Strawberry 75 Cocktail? In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 25ml of the Strawberry Vodka, 20ml lime juice, 15ml of sugar syrup (if you have it - try Rosemary Syrup) and 10ml of cranberry juice. Shake well and strain into a large wine glass. Top up with Prosecco, and garnish with a slice of strawberry.

Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut Champagne 75cl

Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut Champagne 75cl

Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut Champagne With a history which dates back to 1743 (when it was known as Moët et Cie), Moët & Chandon (officially Moët et Chandon) are known as one of the great champagne houses, and are also one of the largest producers of champagne in the world. Fun fact: The T at the end of Moët is pronounced (Mo-et), as the founder was French-born but had a surname of Dutch origin! They own 1,190 hectares (or 2,900 acres) of vineyards, from which they produce approximately 28 Million bottles of champagne annually. This, their Imperial Brut was first introduced in 1869, and is their best-selling brand. It is made from a blend of over 100 different wines - of these, 20 - 30% are reserve wines which are specially selected to enhance the maturity, complexity and constancy of the finished champagne. Between 30 and 40% are Pinot Noir, giving body. 30 - 40% are Pinot Meunier which adds suppleness, and 20 - 30% if chardonnay - giving finesse. The resulting champagne is an elegant golden straw colour, with almost green highlights. The aroma is vibrant, and full of both green apple and citrus fruits. A touch of white flowers leads into an enticing brioche, cereal and fresh nuts bouquet. The palate brings sumptuous notes of pears, apples and peaches. The bubbles almost caress the tastebuds, and open up lively citrus fuits and hints of gooseberry. More from Moët & Chandon  Perfect Serve The perfect drinks to celebrate with, or enjoy the holiday period with friends and family.
