De Kuyper Apricot Brandy The history of the De Kuyper company goes back to 1695, when Petrus De Kuyper married Anna Custers. The company is still owned by the same family, with the current owners tracing their ancestry back to this couple. In the 1920's De Kuyper started producing liqueurs and by the 1930's they were producing over twenty types of liqueurs. For the fourth year running now, they have been recognised as “Liqueurs Producer of the Year” by the International Spirits Challenge. Part of their 'Essentials' range, their Apricot Brandy is a delicious fruit forward liqueur. As the name would suggest, this is packed full of fragrant, ripe apricot falours. This is balanced by hints of bitter orange, and rounded out with white chocolate. One word describes this.... Delicious! More from De Kuyper Perfect Serve This is a delicious liqueur, and adds deep apricot flavours to many cocktails. Our favourite is the Apricot Sour Cocktail. Take a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Add 60ml of the Apricot Brandy, 30ml of fresh lemon juice, 60ml of Bourbon (we like Jim Beam for this), and 5ml of sugar syrup. If you would like a foamy head to your drink, you can also add 1/2 an egg white - or a few drops of Fee Brothers Fee Foam. Shake well for around 15 seconds, and then strain into a tumbler glass. Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
