Wargame: Red Dragon is the third installment in the acclaimed series of real-time strategy games dealing with the subject of fictional armed conflicts against the backdrop of authentic events in recent history. The creators decided to raise the subject of the Cold War once again, but this time they moved their activities to a completely different region - to East Asia - and at the same time introduced numerous novelties in the gameplay mechanics. Eugen Systems studio, also known from such RTSs as R.U.S.E., is again responsible for the preparation of the title. or Act of War: Direct Action. In Red Dragon we are dealing with the same conflict as in the case of the previous two installments of the series, but this time the action takes place in the years 1975-1991. Making East Asia an arena for activities resulted in the addition of five new nations to the game - North and South Korea, Japan, China and ANZAC (Australia and New Zealand alliance). Moreover, due to the change of place of action, the fight is no longer between NATO and the Warsaw Pact, but between a number of coalitions consisting of a smaller number of countries. The developer has prepared 4 campaigns of different length, difficulty and scale of activities. Each of them is set in different years and focuses on the conflict of selected countries, often being a variation on the actual events that in the game - unlike in history - ended with the outbreak of war. Thanks to this, the player can invade Japan with the troops of the USSR or fight the Second Korean War. The core of the campaign is still the strategic mode, in which the player has a map divided into areas at his disposal, where he decides about the course of actions, recruiting and moving troops and fighting battles to gain control over strategic points. Instead of a checkmate, Tito and his guerilla forces resisted the elite SS paratroopers and mountain soldiers and Croatian ground troops successfully.Nemesis: Raid on Drvar features two brand-new battlegroups, meticulously researched and modeled in Steel Division 2. A host of unique new units await to be commanded in solo, coop, or multiplayer.Unternehmen RösselsprungNemesis: Raid on Drvar gives you the combined Axis battlegroup named after the German operation itself: Unternehmen Rösselsprung. The Independent State of Croatia (NHD) - a fascist puppet state - is represented with Legionäre grenadiers, Domobran militia, and Ustache irregulars, as well as Serbian Chetniks royalists and Cossak pioneers. Heavy units are few and far in between, with armor support being relegated to old Italian L6/40, M15/42, and French R-35 and Somua tanks. In the skies above, the Croatian Air Force provides top cover with its arsenal of light and older planes, such as the BH-33E-SHS biplane, pre-war Yugoslav IK-2 fighter, or Italian-made Ca.310bis Libeccio recon bomber.Unternehmen Rösselsprung is a battlegroup that excels in close combat against enemy infantry forces.NOV (Narodnooslobodilačka Vojska)Collected under the banner of Narodnooslobodilačka Vojska (NOV), the combined Yugoslav partisan forces were commanded by the charismatic leader Josip Broz “Tito”. This communist-led army was considered one of the most effective anti-Axis resistance movements in Europe. During Operation Rösselsprung the NOV troops resisted the airborne SS paratroopers fiercely. NOV soldiers - as a whole featuring the Raider trait - are equipped mostly with captured German and Italian arms, while SOE and OSS special forces instructors provide some extra firepower. The battlegroup can also count on heavier weapons, including captured Elefantino 47mm, Pak 50mm and 75mm AT guns. A ton of mortars, as well as Italian 75mm and 100mm mountain guns provide much-needed artillery support. A handful of outdated armor is available, such as Italian L6/40 and French R-35 and Somua tanks, and even the diminutive CV-33 tankettes.
