Memoria is a continuation of The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav (the Polish subtitle of the original is: Klątwa wron). Just like the previous part, this production belongs to the genre of point and click adventure games. In both cases, the developer is Daedalic Entertainment studio. The sequel takes place five centuries after Princess Sadja, from the distant land of Fasar, ventured into the Gorian Desert to confront the demons that reign there. She strove to win the title of the greatest heroine in history. Unfortunately, it was mysteriously lost shortly thereafter and was eventually forgotten. The protagonist of the game is a young boy named Geron. One day he meets a traveling trader Fahi, who promises to restore his girlfriend to her human form in exchange for unraveling the mystery of Sadja who has been lost centuries ago. Geron agrees to the terms of the contract without hesitation in order to be able to see his beloved Nuri again, who was turned into a raven in the prequel. The boy does not know, however, that it is a real challenge. He may be in great danger. The action of the game, as standard in the case of classic point and click adventure titles, consists in exploring subsequent locations, finding and combining items, talking with NPCs and solving logical puzzles. Kevin Mentz, author of the story A New Beginning and co-author of the screenplay of Deponia, is responsible for the story of Memoria.

In the game, we play the role of a four-person research team exploring a mysterious complex at the bottom of the ocean.StoryThe background to the game's plot is a failed research expedition deep under the ocean's surface. A group of scientists was sent to investigate the mysterious anomalies in the complex discovered there. Suddenly, without warning, scientists 'contact with the base ceased, and the researchers' fate remained unknown. The game starts 681 days later. A second, much better prepared expedition is sent to the bottom. Their mission is to investigate the fate of the previous team and the interior of the complex. The title draws inspiration from films such as Alien or Something , putting us in front of bloodthirsty, grotesque creatures who want our death.GameplayThe player's goal is to explore caves and chambers, combined with fighting the attackers. Our team consists of four heroes. We can lead them simultaneously, separately or in smaller groups. Each investigator has different types of tools at his disposal, such as scanners for detecting enemies or hidden rooms, climbing ropes, and explosives. The player also has the opportunity to direct heavy machinery such as drills or cranes. With the help of these mechanics, we have to solve puzzles and find hidden passages. The game puts a lot of emphasis on physics and destructible surroundings.
