Resident evil is a third-person perspective action game developed and published by Capcom. Resident Evil 3 is a remake of the third installment of the original RE series. The game follows the story of Jill Valentine, a former member of the S.T.A.R.S. team who is trying to escape the T-virus infected Raccoon City, and Carlos Oliveira, an Umbrella Corporation agent sent to Raccoon to help evacuate civilians. RE 3 features similar gameplay mechanics to the Resident Evil 2 remake - exploring the city, fighting the undead reanimated by the T-Virus, and avoiding Nemesis - a Tyrant-class mutant hunting Jill and other S.T.A.R.S. members. First impressions of the game were positive, with reviewers praising the graphics, solid writing, and creepy atmosphere.
Two protagonists
The gameplay mechanics in Resident Evil 3 are similar to those Capcom introduced in the previous remake of the RE series. Like in RE 2, in RE 3 the player controls one of two characters - Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira. Both characters are trapped in Raccoon City after the T-Virus outbreak and must search for a way to escape the infected city. Jill and Carlos' stories intertwine at certain points, forcing the characters to work together to survive.
Monsters of Raccoon City
Another gameplay element returning from the RE 2 remake is the mutant Tyrant, which the player must avoid. Unlike Mr. X from the previous game, Nemesis is a more advanced biological weapon and has a few tricks up his sleeve to trap the player and finish him off. He can use his tentacle-like arm to pull the player towards him or cut off his escape route by jumping out right in front of him. The mutant can be wounded by shooting at electrical boxes and explosive barrels, and will drop crates of valuable items when stunned.
In addition to Nemesis, Raccoon City throws the player other monsters to fear. The Gamma Hunter, with its enormous maw, will stalk Jill in the dank sewers beneath the city streets. Drain Deimos returns in terrifying form and can now inject evil status effects into the protagonist, making life even more difficult.

The game's main character will not be defenseless against the monstrosities lurking in the dark corners of Raccoon City. Jill's S.T.A.R.S. training makes her a fierce fighter, ready to take on any challenge. Her skills include dodging enemy attacks - performing a perfect dodge slows down time for a brief second, giving the player time to retaliate or escape a dangerous situation. The player can also use Jill's lock pick skill to open yellow padlocks and discover hidden supplies inside. Since ammunition is scarce, manufacturing it from found resources will be essential to the player's survival.
Join the Resistance
Resident Evil 3 includes a cooperative online multiplayer mode called Resident Evil: Resistance. Players can join forces with others to face challenges set by another player, taking on the role of a Mastermind. The Mastermind can manipulate the environment, setting traps and unleashing deadly monsters on the other players.
Storyline
