Resident Evil VII: Biohazard is an action adventure game that is the seventh major installment in the popular series. The authors from Capcom's in-house studio took the key elements of survival horror, such as the harsh climate, high difficulty level and always too little ammunition, but implemented them in a modern twist, offering a first-person view and extensive exploration sections. Another novelty is the fact that, for the first time in the history of the series, the script was written by a non-Japanese writer, Richard Pearsey. This author previously developed plots for games such as F.E.A.R .: First Encounter Assault Recon or Spec Ops: The Line. Resident Evil VII: Biohazard is a return to the atmosphere of horror and the genre of survival horror. While playing, we explore locations and fight enemies; we also have to deal with logical puzzles occasionally. Individual places should be carefully searched, as this is often rewarded with valuable items. Combined with the high level of difficulty, it causes the player to travel the maps very carefully, while visiting the stages in a hurry may result in unexpected death or missing something important. Most puzzles, on the other hand, rely on manipulating various mechanisms and allow you to take a breath for a moment between successive events straight from your worst nightmares. Significant changes took place in the presentation of the action. The tradition of the series was to play from the third-person perspective, but here we observe the events from the eyes of the hero. The game puts more emphasis on exploration than before, and the main character is clearly weaker, so the fight is a much more serious challenge. This does not mean, however, that the campaign is spent on sneaking: clashes are frequent and very brutal. During the skirmishes, we use a wide arsenal of various weapons, making use of, among others with pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives and even a chainsaw. Resident Evil 4: Ultimate HD Edition is a thorough upgrade of the fourth installment of the cult Resident Evil survival horror series, considered one of the best installments in the series. The original was released in 2005 on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube, but then conversions for other platforms were also made. The Japanese company Capcom is responsible for creating this title.. By many fans, it is considered to be the best game of the franchise. Resident Evil 4: Ultimate HD Edition can boast significantly better graphics with high-resolution textures. It is worth to mention that the new edition added full mouse and keyboard support, including customizable key binds, mouse acceleration, and sensitivity settings.   Storyline In Resident Evil 4 HD we again play the role of Leon S. Kennedy, known from the second part of the game - once a policeman from Raccoon City, and now a secret agent of the US government, responsible, among others, for the safety of the president's family. The protagonist is sent on a mission to Europe. His task is to save the president's daughter, who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances, who is staying there - the trail leads to Pueblo in Spain. On the spot, it turns out that the matter is much more complicated. To complete the task, the hero will have to face hordes of mutants infected with a dangerous parasite. It will also be necessary to deal with a mysterious sect led by the charismatic Osmund Saddler. Gameplay The gameplay in RE4: Ultimate HD Edition remains almost identical in comparison to the original game. The action is presented from The Third Person Perspective (TPP) and the game is an example of a survival-horror genre. During the gameplay, players explore numerous locations, occasionally solve environmental puzzles, and of course, fight dangerous enemies. This time, combat is the most essential element of the game. The protagonist can use a variety of different weapons such as pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, or even grenade launchers or crossbows with exploding ammo. In addition to that, from time to time players will have to complete spectacular QTE sequences (Quick Time Events), during which they will have to press the right button at the right time.   Reception The game gathered mostly favorable reviews. Full of combat and fast-paced action gameplay attracted a lot of fans. Introducing full support for mouse and keyboard is one of the most praised features of the re-mastered edition, as it was the main reason for the negative opinions about the original Resident Evil 4.
