The next installment of the best-selling Call of Duty series is a continuation of the events presented in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Playing the role of soldiers, players try to stop enemy forces that threaten security and peace in the world. By the decision of Activision, which owns the rights to the Call of Duty brand, the series is being developed in two directions - contemporary and historical. The Modern Warfare series, behind which the Inifity Ward studio stands, presents fictional events set in the very near future.
This time, other development studios belonging to Activision - Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software - were also included in the work on the game. The creators set themselves the goal of closing the threads of the main characters of the series, at the same time enriching the gameplay with new elements. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 takes place shortly after the events of the second part of the game, released two years earlier. The scriptwriters made sure that the plot of the main campaign was kept in suspense all the time. In 16 missions, players have the opportunity to visit, among others Dharmasala (India), New York (USA), London (UK), Mogadishu (Somalia), Hamburg (Germany), Paris (France), Prague (Czech Republic), Berlin (Germany), Washington (US) and Dubai (United States Arab Emirates). There are also specific locations in the game, such as the Moscow Kremlin, a castle in the Czech mountains or the deck of the plane transporting the Russian president.
