Portuguese Laurel Cherry (Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia) – 3/4 Standard

Portuguese Laurel Cherry (Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia) – 3/4 Standard

Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia is a bushy, evergreen shrub which has been widely used since Victorian times to create Italian style gardens. It has an exotic appearance with dense large dark green leaves that appear on dark red stems. Angustifolia has narrower leaves than the species with stalks and new twigs of a brighter red colour. Portuguese Laurel bears numerous racemes of scented white flowers in June, which produce red turning to black berries much loved by birds. Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia is a frost hardy tree that does well in full sun but will thrive almost anywhere. It prefers acidic, permeable soil rich in organic matter. Once established it tolerates dry spells in summer although regular watering will result in richer and healthier foliage so continue watering in winter when the ground is not frozen. How to Use  Dry Granule Application: Rootballed and containerised: 1. Sprinkle the granules evenly, at the recommended dosage, directly into the prepared planting hole or pit. 2. Place the plant directly onto the granules so that the rootzone comes into contact with the granules. For larger plants over 30L or 12-14 girth: Apply during backfill against the side wall of the root zone to ensure contacts with feeder roots. Root Deep Application - Gel Solution: Mix: 1 sachet with 15-20L of water (for 2.5L tub) 1 sachet with 30-40L of water (for 5L tub) 2 sachets with 60-80L of water (for 10L tub) The desired consistency will depend on the root density of the plant species used. The appearance of the solution, when mixed, should be similar to wallpaper paste. For more dense or fibrous roots the solution should be thinner. Add the Root Grow granules when the desired consistency is met and stir well. We recommend dipping 25 whips per dip to ensure even coverage. Use mixed gel dip within 2 days and do not allow to freeze. Weight 2.5 / 4.99 / 10.2 kg

Morus Platanifolia Fruitless (Fruitless Mulberry) - Roof Shape

Morus Platanifolia Fruitless (Fruitless Mulberry) - Roof Shape

Morus, known as the mulberry tree, a deciduous tree that is native to Japan. This mulberry tree is often appreciated for the shade it provides and for its lobed and deep green foliage with a glossy upper side that is so shiny it looks like it has been sprayed! In April May Morus kagayamae bears both male and female flowers on the same branch but this variety is sterile and does not produce fruit. It is popular for planting in public areas because It avoids the problems associated with messy fruitfall. Morus can withstand mild frosts though leaves and other aerial parts are damaged as soon as temperatures drops to freezing. The mulberry tree is likely to die as soon as temperature drops below -12°C, despite the RHS rating it as a H5. Taking this into consideration, we personally rate this plant therefore at H4 and advise to shelter the plant as soon as a major cold snap is evident. It is generally pest free but take care of any potential diseases. Photinia x Fraseri Red Robin (Christmas Berry Red Robin) - Standard

Photinia x Fraseri Red Robin (Christmas Berry Red Robin) - Standard

Photinia x Fraseri Red Robin, also known as Photinia Serrulata Red Robin or occasionally the Christmas Berry, is a group of evergreen shrubs grown specifically for glossy, dark green adult foliage, white flowers and brilliant red tinted young leaves; in the spring, they unfold to give a stunning display. The best known of the photinias is Photinia Red Robin, which is often planted as a specimen shrub or as a dense, evergreen hedge. A Christmas Berry Red Robin puts on a show all year round, with white springtime flowers and new leaves that start out as a vibrant red, before darkening to a glossy green as they age. These bright colours are popular with wildlife, but due to its loose branch structure, birds are unlikely to choose the Red Robin as a nesting location (which is ironic). Christmas Berry Red Robins are an excellent choice for creating interesting hedges and borders.
