The lamp's unique and almost playful shape helps to encapsulate Gianfranco Franttini's approach to the aesthetics of light. More than six decades after the lamp's first production, Model 597 is back. The Model 597's unique nylon fringe was inspired by both the fashion world and the fringed entrance curtains often found in Italy's bars and convenience stores in the late 1950s. Due to the design of the lamp, both the floor lamp and the table lamp radiates 360 degrees of indirect light, which is pleasantly softened by the hanging fringes.
