Design: Gianfranco Frattini 1961, Gubi Concept: With roots dating back to 1961, the Gubi Model 597 is the lamp that launched Italian designer Gianfranco Frattini's career as a lighting designer. A lamp that is short and cylindrical, and houses several bulbs and beautiful fringes that beautifully hide the lamp's light sources. The lamp's unique and almost playful shape helps to encapsulate Gianfranco Franttini's approach to the aesthetics of light. More than six decades after the lamp's first production, Model 597 is back. The Model 597's unique nylon fringe was inspired by both the fashion world and the fringed entrance curtains often found in Italy's bars and convenience stores in the late 1950s. Due to the design of the lamp, both the floor lamp and the table lamp radiates 360 degrees of indirect light, which is pleasantly softened by the hanging fringes. Together, they help to create a fantastic atmosphere in the rooms in which they are placed.

Design: Stemlite designed by Bill Curry, 1962 Concept: The idea behind the design for Stemlite was based on a wish from Bill Curry's side, to be able to change the norms for lamp design. He wanted to create a lamp that did not consist of the, at the time, otherwise so traditional base, bulb, shade construction. Curry wanted to create a lamp that combined the three components into an organic, colorful lamp. That desire resulted in the first '' Total look '' lamp, Stemlite . The design draws inspiration from flowers which, with their strong but thin stems, can hold a heavy flowerhead upright. This inspiration can be seen on the metal base which mimics the stem of a tulip. Via the mouth-blown glass globe on top, Stemlite emits a soft and pleasantly diffused light. Stemlite  was Bill Curry's best-selling collection and was also used to present American design in the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, and Iraq in the 1960s. Stemlite has been brought back to life by GUBI, to reintroduce the world to Bill Curry's amazing work. The Stemlite collection is available as a table lamp, floor lamp, or pendant. All are available in gray, black-red, or black chrome.
