I anledningen af 400 året for jødisk liv i Danmark udgiver Dansk Jødisk Museum Hanne Foighels bog "Sten på sten. Mine 400 år gamle danskjødiske rødder." Med sin egen familie som ledetråd følger Hanne Foighel dansk jødisk liv i 400 år frem til 2022. Hanne kan spore sin familie 11 generationer tilbage og den første Heckscher fra Altona får lov at bosætte sig i København i 1727. I 1800-tallet er familien en del af det velhavende danskjødiske borgerskab, der i begyndelsen af 1900-tallet hastigt assimileres. Samtidig slår omkring 3000 jøder på flugt fra pogromer og fattigdom i Østeuropa sig ned i København. Blandt dem senere skatteminister Isi Foighels bedsteforældre, forfatterens oldeforældre.Sten på sten er mere end blot en bog om én slægt. Det er en rejse gennem dansk jødisk historie fra 1600-tallet til nutiden. Det er et indblik i historien gennem personlige skæbner og beretninger, der gør historien nærværende og relaterbar.Hanne Foighel har skrevet en bog, der tager udgangspunkt i hendes egen slægt, som et eksempel på den store historie, men fortalt i øjenhøjde.
