In Life Matters - Confronting the challenges of our time we see distilled experiences and reflections of a humble and spiritual working-class man. This is an honest depiction by the author, someone who has had to deal with many challenging and painful struggles in his sixty years of life. In a wide range of blogs, devotionals and articles accumulated over many years of prolific writing in the pages of Life Matters , the author explores themes centred on the best and worst of human nature with much clarity and a rare honesty. Topics range from life controlling behaviour to freedom in the Spirit, from human loss and rejection to hope and acceptance. It also covers topics such as envy and insecurity, grace and confidence, anguish and despair, true joy and hope - it''s all there! The author''s wit, humour and carefully crafted words will help you find encouragement from Jesus Christ, appropriate to the happenings and thoughts that are part of being human. These words would have carried heavenly anointing whenever they had been penned. You will find, in the multitude of diverse subjects close to every one of us, good reason to return and dip into this book time and time again and in the years to come. Not written in a deeply theological manner, this book will appeal just as much to the committed Christian as it does to the casual agnostic or open-minded seeker. Each reading leaves a message of hope in even the most desperate of circumstances.

Living Life in Common - David Prior - Bog - Troubador Publishing - Plusbog.dk

Pilsdon sits within a lengthy tradition of hospitality offered by faith communities of different types and of both monastic and lay community life. People of all faiths and none are welcomed as guests to live and work alongside the community members, staying for as long as they need to. Located in the West Dorset countryside, the community operates as a small farm, caring for cows, sheep, pigs, hens and extensive vegetable and fruit gardens through principles of environmental sustainability. It offers guests the opportunity to recover a positive sense of self through being alongside others and to start to repair what are often very broken lives. The stories told in the book through the voices of those who have experienced this way of life give a vivid and compelling account of the benefits of ‘living in common’. Moreover, the book locates this account within a broader analysis of the changing social, cultural and policy context as it relates to people with problems of mental illness, addiction and homelessness. Living Life in Common: Stories from the Pilsdon Community is about communal living, as practised by a community through a period of substantial cultural and social change. The book presents in their own words the first-hand experiences of people who have known and lived in the Pilsdon Community throughout its 62 year history. It reflects on the enduring values of a way of life that has survived both internal challenges and the shock of a global pandemic to offer hope and inspiration for how we can live well together.

You Can’t Die for The Life In You - Bob Dawson - Bog - Troubador Publishing - Plusbog.dk

You Can’t Die for The Life In You - Bob Dawson - Bog - Troubador Publishing - Plusbog.dk

Bob Dawson has had a vast of experience, spanning over 35 years, with both the Spirit World, and the Spiritualist Movement and its periphery. During this time he has developed as a Healer and a Spiritualist Medium, and he has taken Spiritualist Church Services, workshops, and demonstrated Mediumship throughout the North West of England. In the past he was a committee member and former President of Rawtenstall Spiritualist Church , and is the Founder and Trustee of Rossendale Spiritualist Centre , which was established in 2003. During his life Bob has witnessed an array of what people would describe as paranormal events. Many would consider these magical, or even impossible, but in fact they are a reality, and adhere precisely to the Laws of Creation. He describes these events as life changing, in particular the physical phenomena that he has witnessed, and these are documented and critically examined within his book. In recounting these experiences Bob adds his own thought-provoking insight into the workings of Creation, and the function of the Spirit World through the evidence they have provided. He also explains the manifestation of our Spirit incarnation and reason for our progressive experiences in this world. This book provides the reader with an insight to what the Spirit World can achieve and demonstrate at our physical level, and points the way towards the self-discovery of who you truly are, which is not who you think you are. You Can’t Die for The Life In You is a fascinating account which will continue to stimulate the readers’ curiosity about the evidence, their identity, and life itself.

My Horsy Life - Janet Rising - Bog - Troubador Publishing - Plusbog.dk

My Horsy Life - Janet Rising - Bog - Troubador Publishing - Plusbog.dk

Janet Rising has written sixteen pony books for young readers including, with Carl Hester MBE, FBHS, the life story of Valegro, the greatest dressage horse that has ever lived. Although no stranger to writing fiction for adults, this is her first book for that audience: a hilarious, hair-raising and often thought-provoking look back at over fifty years of equestrian memories. Older readers will find themselves reminiscing about their own horsy memories; younger readers will marvel at how times have changed – but all will share a common empathy with the author''s love of all things equine.Janet Rising refused to allow the fact that she was born in the suburbs, with no hope of ever owning a pony, to prevent her from making horses her life. Her equestrian career included teaching riding at various riding schools, working for a top class donkey stud, and 20 years as an equine journalist and editor of Pony, the magazine for young riders. For anyone who has ever wondered how teenage riders in the 1970s stayed alive despite hair-raising lessons and the absence of health and safety, about riding attire fashioned without stretch fabrics, how a love of horses makes for female empowerment, whether Pony Club mums make good riding sons, ideas on being an equestrian dominatrix, how not to clean tack, whether Happy Hackers need a re-boot and why riding bareback is not a good idea (and riding without a bridle even worse), this book will provide the answers. Included are equestrian tales throughout the 1980s and 1990s, why going posh might not be all its cracked up to be; the pitfalls of clipping and bewildering rug wardrobes, unconventional riding holidays in Spain and hair-raising African safaris; the pitfalls of teaching riding and the story of a small bay mule who captured the author''s heart. There are highs, there are lows but always there are laughs.Written with wry humour and packed with surprises on every page, this is an equestrian memoir like no other – a horsy life you couldn''t make up!
