The STAR series offers a selection of exceptional snare drums, including this STAR Reserve. For this snare drum, Tama uses a single shell for a unique sound. The Vol. 4 is the first model to be made from metal. Measuring 14 x 6.5 inches, it is made from a 1.5mm thick copper ply and hammered by hand. For the edges, Tama used a small hammer, which gives the barrel increased solidity and a richer sound. This hammering also results in greater volume in the mids and lows, as well as excellent harmonics. Thanks to its special straps, this snare provides a sharp attack.
