Here you get a quality weighted duvet with glass beads, cotton and polyester fibres. The duvet provides an even, gentle pressure on the whole body, which is known to provide a calming and relaxing effect.
Our 7-layer ball blanket / weighted duvet contains small glass beads with a diameter of approx. 1 mm. You cannot feel the small glass beads at all, as they are wrapped in polyester fibres, which also means that noise from the beads is also avoided. The size and distribution of the small micro glass beads means that the weighted duvet falls tightly and heavily around your body.
What is it?
A weighted duvet is a duvet with a heavier filling. The extra weight gives your body that comfortable and relaxing embrace that a duvet provides when you lie down to rest. The enveloping effect of the weighted duvet creates pressure on the skin. This comfort stimulates deep skin receptors and signals to our hormonal system to produce and release feel-good hormones such as melatonin, serotonin and oxytocin, as well as reduce cortisol, which is the body’s most significant stress hormone.
If you are considering purchasing a ball blanket / weighted duvet, we recommend that you look for a duvet that manages to wrap around your body in the best possible way. Therefore, it can often be preferable if the duvet consists of small moving beads/balls that allow the duvet to wrap around the body and follow it with every movement.
In addition to better sleep, the vast majority of people also agree that a ball blanket/weighted duvet is far more comfortable than an ordinary duvet.
Who can use the duvet?
A weighted duvet is suitable for anyone who wants sound and comfortable sleep and those who may be suffering from sleep problems. It has been proven that weighted duvets are effective for people with ADHD or Autism, as well as people who are motorically and mentally challenged or suffer other painful conditions.
We recommend that you choose a weighted duvet that corresponds to approximately 10% of your body weight – for example, this duvet of 7 kg is recommended for a body weight of approx. 70 kg.
The duvet is not suitable for small children, people with low body weight and pregnant women.
Maintenance
The weighted duvet cannot withstand machine washings or tumble dryers. It is, therefore, always recommended to use a duvet cover. It should be aired and brushed (do not beat or vacuum).
