Often referred to as the Curry Plant because of the strong scented leaves, this is a versatile, evergreen sub-shrub, bushy with silver-grey linear leaves and topped all summer long by dark yellow, flat-topped currycombs. Requires a dry, sunny terrain. This is a grower of medium speed and is especially good for rock gardens. The Helichrysum Italicum can be grown in pots, is suitable in all gardens and can withstand tarmac. The Loquat is originally from Ancient China and was later on introduced to Japan around a similar time period. It has been cultivated there for about 1,000 years.
