Clearing of Industrial Gas Emissions - Usmanova Regina Ravilevna - Bog - Apple Academic Press Inc. - Plusbog.dk

Processes for clearing gases from dust in wet-type dust separators are widely applied in many industries for technological purposes and environmental control. Among goals of these processes is to ensure high efficiency of dust removal with minimum energy costs. This book presents the newest scientific research data under the theory and practice of wet clearing of industrial gases from dispersion particles. The authors consider the modern aspects of the separation process and gas-dispersed impurities. The book covers three main sections on working out and research of the following types of wet gas purifiers: dynamic scrubbers, wet gas clean apparatuses of shock-inertial act, and bubble dust traps. Each section considers the engineering and technological aspects of circuit design, including the theoretical fundamentals of process of gas cleaning, trial and error methods and calculation of apparatuses of wet gas cleaning, and construction of new gas clean apparatuses, their operational characteristics, and recommendations about application In the literature there are no reliable methods of efficient clearing of gas emissions in scrubbers. This creates complexities at calculation and designing of these apparatuses and also complicates process intensification. The authors develop methods of calculation of process of gas cleaning on the basis of studying of hydrodynamic characteristics of apparatuses.

Wastewater Reuse and Watershed Management - - Bog - Apple Academic Press Inc. - Plusbog.dk

Wastewater Reuse and Watershed Management - - Bog - Apple Academic Press Inc. - Plusbog.dk

Water is a finite resource, and the demand for clean water is constantly growing. Clean freshwater is needed to meet irrigation demands for agriculture, for consumption, and for industrial uses. The world produces billions of tons of wastewater every year. This volume looks at a multitude of ways to capture, treat, and reuse wastewater and how to effectively manage watersheds. It presents a selection of new technologies and methods to recycle, reclaim, and reuse water for agricultural, industrial, and environmental purposes. The editor states that more than 75–80% of the wastewater we produce goes back to nature without being properly treated, leading to pollution and all sorts of negative health and productivity consequences. Topics cover a wide selection of research, including molluscs as a tool for river health assessment, flood risk modeling, biological removal of toxins from groundwater, saline water intrusion into coastal areas, urban drainage simulations, rainwater harvesting, irrigation topics, and more. Key features: • explores the existing methodologies in the field of reuse of wastewater • looks at different approaches in integrated water resources management • examines the issues of groundwater management and development • discusses saline water intrusion in coastal areas • presents various watershed management approaches • includes case studies and analyses of various water management efforts

This 4-volume set focuses on the use of microbial bioremediation and phytoremediation to clean up pollutants in soil, such as pesticides, petroleum hydrocarbons, metals, and chlorinated solvents, which reduce the soil''s fertility and renders it unfit for plant growth. Volume 2: Microbial Approaches and Recent Trends focuses on new and emerging techniques and approaches to address soil pollution. These include the use of rhizobacteria, archaea, cyanobacteria, and microalgae as biofertilizers and for soil bioremediation efforts. New technologies for assessment of soil bioremediation are explored also. The chapters provide in-depth coverage of the mechanisms, advantages, and disadvantages of the technologies used and highlight the use of different microbial enzymes that are used in the process of bioremediation and phytoremediation to clean up different pollutants without causing damage to the natural environment. Other volumes in the 4-volume set: • Volume 1: Fundamental Aspects and Contaminated Sites • Volume 3: Inventive Techniques, Research Methods, and Case Studies • Volume 4: Degradation of Pesticides and Polychlorinated Biphenyls Together, these four volumes provide in-depth coverage of the mechanisms, advantages, and disadvantages of the bioremediation and phytoremediation technologies for safe and sustainable soil management. The diverse topics help to arm biologists, agricultural engineers, environmental and soil scientists and chemists with the information and tools they need to address soil toxins that are a dangerous risk to plants, wildlife, humans and, of course, the soil itself.
