Design: Christian Dell for Lightyears, 1936 Concept: The Kaiser Idell lamp series has a very elegant and timeless design. With its original Bauhaus design, the Kaiser Idell series is built around the world-patented ball joint (1930), as well as the well-known lampshade, which has a very special characteristic that characterizes the Kaiser Idell lamp. On top of the characteristic lamp top is the engraving with "ORIGINAL KAISER-idell". All Idell lamps are made of steel and brass , while the shades are hand-lacquered in high-gloss or mat paint. All the chrome-plated parts on the lamp are made of hand-polished and silver-soldered brass. The Idell lamp series consists of various table lamps, floor lamps, pendants and a wall lamps. All the models come in the colors black, matt black and white, while some models are also made in other colours. Christian Dell (1893-1974) designed the first lamps of the Idell series in 1926 and the first ones went into production and were launched in 1936. One of the first and most recognized designs from the Idell series is model 6631 Luxus.
