Design: Tom Dixon & Front Concept: Tom Dixon and FRONT have created an incredibly beautiful portable lamp, in a completely unique design. The lamp is made using a special metallizing technology that makes the appearance completely unique. The first of its kind. the lamp is transparent when its on, and you can see the exciting play of colors. When the lamp is turned off, it issues a mirror-like look. The Melt lamp has a beautiful organic and natural expression. The portable lamp is designed in collaboration between Tom Dixon and the Swedish design collective FRONT. The thoughts behind the design are a mixture of creating the expression of three strange things such as melted glass, a melting glacier and the expression from when you have taken a picture with a flash. The cordless design makes it easy to bring the light to any corner of your home and move it from room to room.
