Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part I is the PC's first major expansion pack for the RPG Pillars of Eternity. The expansion requires the basic version of the game and both productions were developed by Obsidian Entertainment.
The action of the add-on takes place as part of the campaign from the base game, and access to the new content opens right after completing the first act. The success of the player-driven heroes echoed throughout the land, and stories of the Caed Nua Fortress recapture also made their way to the remote region of the White March, nestled at the foot of the gloomy mountain fortress of Durgan. Long ago, the gates of this fortress - Durgan's Battery - were closed by their dwarven builders. Centuries later, the mysteries of the Battery remain unsolved. However, there are still plenty of daredevils ready to try their hand at opening the gate, as rumors say that there are very valuable artifacts inside. This challenge is also taken by the player's team, which goes to the title White March with a mission to discover the secret of the legendary Durban steel. In addition to the main storyline, Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part I also offers a lot of side missions and an extremely difficult location, intended for the most experienced teams.
In addition, the add-on introduces new skills and two additional companions that can be recruited to the team. The maximum experience level has also been increased to 14. All these novelties, however, do not change the basic elements of the game. Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part I is still a classic RPG in which we explore the world, complete missions, develop heroes and fight battles. The clashes are played in real time with the option of an active pause. The authors simply offered new content, instead of changing the basic foundations of the game.
