The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II is a direct continuation of the first part of the same title. The game belongs to the hack'n'slash genre and was developed by Neocore Games studio, famous for producing the strategic King Arthur series. The team also developed productions such as Lionheart: The Crusades and Crusaders: Your Kingdom.
In the sequel, we again find ourselves in a land called Borgovia. We travel through dark forests where bloodthirsty monsters, such as werewolves and demons, lurk, and drive away the dark forces of evil and save the world from oppression. The hero, the son of Van Helsing, the legendary monster hunter, is accompanied by the ghost of Lady Katarina. After stopping the main villain in "One", in the city of Borgov, the capital of Borgovia, chaos builds up on the streets, and from the darkness more dangers emerge that can only be faced by young Van Helsing. The game takes place both in single and multiplayer (cooperation for 4 players or PvP for 8 people).
The gameplay does not differ much from what we dealt with in the "number one". At the beginning, however, we received three playable character classes that were previously available as DLC add-ons. Hunter has shooting skills and is great in hand-to-hand combat, Thaumaturge specializes in magic, and Arcane Mechanic is a master of deadly devices and traps.
The developer has also expanded the tower defense mini-game and made it possible to direct the resistance movement. The player's tasks include, among other things, providing his subordinates with better weapons and equipment. In addition, it is possible to disassemble artifacts, separating them into smaller magical fragments that can be assembled in various items or created completely new from them. In addition, during our adventure we will meet Chimera - a beast that we summon to help during combat or use to search for treasures.
In the sequel, the Hunter's Lair has returned, where you can store the loot, trade with NPC characters, move between locations, craft new items and take on new missions. A novelty is the ability to store special trophies that modify the rules governing the game world. Thanks to them, monsters become stronger, our allies gain more magical and other skills.
The game was created on the engine of the first part, and the graphics have a similar, dark tone. The gothic-steampunk atmosphere that characterized the predecessor has also been preserved. The creators did not forget about the references to Dracula, the famous novel by Bram Stoker.
