Design: Bent Karlby for LYFA, 1946 Concept: PEANUT 400 A lamp designed based on Bent Karlby's hatred of the then prominent fluorescent tubes. His negative attitude towards the cold and harsh light that fluorescent tubes offered meant that he wanted to go the opposite direction and create a lamp that had soft shapes and a pleasant light. The PEANUT lamp houses a design that has only become more popular over time. The stylish mouth-blown opal glass, combined with a brass top and base, creates a lamp that would undoubtedly fit anywhere in the home, whether it hangs over the dining table, the sofa, or as lighting over the kitchen counter. This pendant also clearly reflects LYFA's ideology that form should follow function, and not the other way around. At the bottom of PEANUT there is a diffuser that can be removed if needed, should you want a more direct light on the dining table or workstation. Based on this, LYFA has created a special SUNDOWNER edition in the gray- beige- pink tones called 'Mallorcan', as a tribute to Utzon. The lamp is dimmable, compatible with a dimmable lightbulb. DIVAN 2 is an old classic that has been loved by many over the years, which has also resulted in various Danish and international design awards. The pendant has even been exhibited at the famous Louvre museum in Paris, and with good reason. Whether it is turned off or on, DIVAN 2 is more than just a lamp. With its beautiful design, it appears as an incredibly elegant piece of art. A pendant that requires to be hung in a larger room where the design can really come into its own.
