Omerta: City of Gangsters is a strategy game with simulation and tactical elements, produced by the Bulgarian studio Haemimont Games (Tzar: The Burden of the Crown, Celtic Kings: Rage of War, Tropico 4 and others). The action of Omerta: City of Gangsters was set in the 1920s.
Gameplay
The players take on the role of a young immigrant who comes to Atlantic City in the early 1920s. He begins his career modestly - by recruiting a few gang members who will help him in carrying out his first tasks. His ambitions, however, are much greater and boil down to subjugating the entire city. The game is therefore about developing a criminal empire and taking over the territories of other mafia families, including individual districts of the coastal city.
Omerta: City of Gangsters is an economic strategy that also offers extensive tactical elements. Organization management (including investing money, bribing policemen and politicians, or trading in alcohol) takes place in real time. However, the missions themselves are played in a turn-based system. In the second mode, we carry out attacks, attack the headquarters of competitors, recapture subordinates from the hands of the police and rob banks.
