Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force is a traditional three-dimensional jRPG set in a fantasy world. The Japanese studio Compile Heart, which has been specializing in creating new titles in the genre for years, is responsible for its production. The game is an improved and significantly expanded port of the original Fairy Fencer F , which debuted on PlayStation 3 in 2013. Some gameplay elements have changed, such as the combat system, and the story has been expanded with new heroes and history. Story The story presented in the title takes place in a world that was, in the distant past, the arena of a conflict between two powerful deities. They created a series of magical weapons to ensure them victory in battle. With the gods gone, their weapons, called fury, fell into the hands of human swordsmen. Each weapon has an intelligent guardian spirit that communicates with its owner and works in partnership with him. Fang, the boy who is the main character of the title and one of the swordsmen, at the beginning of the adventure meets with another representative of her profession called Tiara, who is trying at all costs to collect as much fury as possible. Advent Dark Force versionhas two new alternate story chapters that start after the end of the original. Players can choose one of them and see a different title finale, with completely new heroes accompanying us. Gameplay We observe the action of the game from the perspective of a third person. We travel between three-dimensional locations marked on the general map of the world. During the exploration of individual levels, we encounter various types of creatures, as well as NPCs. Dialogues and story cutscenes were made in the form known from visual novel (two-dimensional portraits and text displayed at the bottom of the screen). The combat system in the game is an extended version of what we could find in the Hyperdimension Neptunia cycle . The Advent Dark Force version significantly modifies the appearance of the skirmishes, expanding the number of characters participating in them from three to six. Therefore, team members move freely on the battlefield, but take commands in turn-based order.In addition to standard attacks, they also have special skills and unique moves that wreak havoc in the ranks of the opponents. Thanks to successive battles, the heroes gain experience and level up, increasing their statistics. They gain new skills by strengthening the weapons they use.
