Serious Sam: The Random Encounter centers around a plan to take down Mental. It turns out that despite the success of Sam's mission as presented in Serious Sam: First Enconuter, not everything went as planned. So he decides to take another trip into the future to kill his arch-enemy. Unfortunately, the hero and two of his companions fall into a trap set by Ugh-Zan. To get out of the trap, the team of daredevils must face hordes of monsters of all kinds.The main campaign was divided into three chapters, each of which has three levels. Additionally, players can try their hand at endless mode. Game mechanics combines turn-based and real-time gameplay. The player-controlled team travels across locations, with a chance of "accidental encounters" with enemies at every step. Duels are divided into alternating sequences - the preparation stage (during which we can, for example, make a weapon selection) and the following 5 seconds of "live" combat. Destroying all opponents recharges the bar showing the progress of characters. The reward for filling it up is a new weapon and restoring the heroes to full strength.
