Hatred is a shooter in which we observe the events from an isometric projection in a three-dimensional environment. We are dealing here with the debut work of the Polish studio Destructive Creations, founded in Gliwice by Jarosław Zieliński. A characteristic feature of the production is the incredible dose of violence contained in it - the creators wanted to oppose contemporary trends, making a game focused on pure entertainment, in spite of political correctness. No wonder then that this production was accompanied by a lot of controversy from the moment it was revealed.
We play the role of a nameless antihero who is filled with pure, cold, deep hatred towards the whole world. The gameplay begins when the protagonist's emotions reach its zenith, and he goes out into the streets of an American town, guns in hand, to sow murder, killing in cold blood anyone who gets caught in his barrel - regardless of whether it is an officer the law or an innocent civilian.
The psychopath's journey takes several hours and is divided into seven levels. A large part of them has an open structure - it gives us a fairly large area where we decide ourselves how to achieve the main goals and we can complete additional tasks while traveling with vehicles. The locations visited include riverside marina, canals, running train and military base. During the game, we use an arsenal that includes murderous tools such as a pistol, shotgun, various rifles, grenades or a manual rocket launcher.
The game was created using the Unreal Engine 4 engine - thanks to this, it offers quite detailed graphics as well as advanced physics. The latter is mainly visible in the spectacular destruction of the environment, involving the demolition of walls, scattering equipment, etc. The creators focused on a harsh climate, intensified by a grain filter and a dark tone dominated by black and dark shades of gray.
