Journey of a Roach is a comic book style, humorous adventure game with cockroaches in the lead role. The Swiss studio Koboldgames is responsible for its creation, and the publisher of the title is known, among others with Botaniculi, Machinarium and many excellent Daedalic Enterntainment adventure games. The action takes place in a post-apocalyptic bunker, right after the outbreak of a nuclear war that destroyed all of humanity. We play the role of two "wormy" friends - Jim and Bud, trapped in a fallout shelter deep underground. Our goal is to find the way to the surface of the planet. During our adventure, we use the classic point-and-click interface. The game is about finding your way through underground corridors thanks to specific cockroach abilities, such as walking on walls or ceilings. During the journey, of course, we will have to solve a series of puzzles, find items and skillfully combine them together. Journey of a Roach does not have dialogues - our friends communicate with each other in a specific and easy-to-understand language of gestures. The game has an original, humorous atmosphere and a colorful, comic book setting. The production offers light, easy and fun old-fashioned entertainment.

The production is distinguished above all by an extremely original script and the use of very classic, old-school technical solutions, thanks to which it can bring to mind such items as Day of the Tentacle or The Secret of Monkey Island . Story The main character of the game is the title Edna, a peculiar young woman who wakes up one morning locked in a mental hospital, remembering practically nothing. However, she is fully convinced that she is here completely wrong and must get out of here as soon as possible. After all, the girl considers herself a completely normal person, although the player may have some doubts about it, considering her shabby, stuffed rabbit mascot Harvey, with whom she quite often discusses various topics. Together, they also decide to escape from this problematic place. As it turns out quickly, getting out of the madhouse is not such a simple matter, which is why our original pair of heroes is forced to ask for intellectual help from the player in this endeavor. Considering the nature of the location where Edna and Harvey are currently staying, it is easy to conclude that the characters encountered on our way are, to put it mildly, unusual personalities (e.g. a man dressed in a bee costume or a pair of Siamese twins). Nevertheless, we should find a common language with the inhabitants of the psychiatrist, because only by joint efforts we have a chance to achieve the desired goal. Fortunately, the passage of time and contacts with other people enable Edna to slowly regain her memory, which has a very positive effect on her mental abilities. As we can see, it is difficult to accuse the game's creators of lack of creativity or re-creativity when it comes to the plot.
