The Night of the Rabbit is an adventure game developed by Daedalic, a company specializing in this genre. The whole was designed by Matthias Kempke, who is known mainly as the creator of the excellent series What Makes You Tick? .
Gameplay
The game tells the story of a twelve-year-old boy named Jerry Hazelnut (in the Polish version - Jerzyk Orzech, who dreams of learning the arcane of magic). At the end of the summer vacation, he meets the Marquis de Hoto, a wizard who agrees to accept Jerry as an apprentice. The Marquis is not an ordinary magician, however. De Hoto is a human-shaped white rabbit, the size of an adult male. What's more, he lives in the land of Mousewood (Polish Mysibór), where magic is both common and deadly. It quickly turns out that Jerry is no ordinary boy and was not chosen by chance. Instead, the boy is to play a key role in the battle against the forces of evil led by Great Zaroff, who want to tear the tapestry of reality to shreds. Before Jerry becomes the chosen one the world needs first he will have to face his greatest fear and learn the secrets of magic. For this, he will have to find transitions to other dimensions, and their inhabitants will teach him new spells. The Night of the Rabbit is a classic point-n-click adventure game. Therefore, we spend most of our time exploring locations, collecting items, conducting conversations and solving puzzles. The gameplay is enriched by the magic system. As the story unfolds, Jerry regularly learns new spells to help him achieve his goals. For example, there is a spell that allows you to talk to the statues and ask them about what they have witnessed recently.
